1. product packaging and accessories
The packaging is basically the same as the previous Miniplayer, only the SL version in the upper right corner indicates that this is a brand-new product.
Accessories mainly include instruction manual, data cable, drive CD, warranty certificate and PT850B earphone, which are simple and practical.
Step 2 show up
The appearance of classic Miniplayer has been slimmed down, and the appearance of SL is particularly small and lovely. It is still a commendable double-sided injection molding process, which provides excellent wear and compression resistance. Although the thickness is much thinner, it doesn't feel fragile in your hand and feels very good.
The version I got is a mirror version with protective films on both sides. Although it is not the matte material mentioned before, it is easy to wear out personally, but the mirror material can make the product more noble.
3. Visual test of display screen
According to the data, Miniplayer SL adopts a new technology screen. Here, we compare Miniplayer SL with our own Miniplayer and Taipower C260<. The order from left to right in the figure is MiniPlayer, SL and C260. It is not difficult to see that the order of brightness is C260.
Note: The condition of screen test is that all machine screens are turned on to the maximum brightness.
4. Subjective listening test
Take a picture with PT-850B.
I tested the machine with randomly distributed PT850B headphones, Yin Da DN-C60 headphones and rambler H-800 headphones. Because everyone's sense of hearing and preferences are different, it is called a subjective test.
The test is mainly divided into treble, bass, human voice, symphony and electronic sound. Let me talk about my feelings separately:
High-pitched part:
In the high-pitched part of the test, Tengger singer singer's Ape in Paradise Format 7 15 kbps is selected from Tengger singer singer's Paradise XRCD album, which is a very classic vocal track. SL has shown very good resolution, and all three headphones tested have shown good quality, especially the H-800, which shows the special voice of Tengger singer singers very well.
Bass part:
The selected song is He Xuntian's Thousand Rivers and Moon. This song is selected from He Xuntian's Paramita album, with APE format of 7 13kbps. The first part of the song is pure percussion, the bass of SL is heavy but not chaotic, and the performance of three headphones is also very good, which is very rare. The second part is the chorus of 100 people, which tests the dynamic response of the whole frequency when the system is turned on. There is only H-800 left here. The other two headphones have had sonic booms, but this is mainly related to headphones. When using H-800, the whole system has withstood the test, which is beyond my expectation. In the past, playing this music on the computer was basically a "killing" situation. It can be seen from this that SL's bass skill is really unusual.
Vocal part:
The selected song is Garfield's attachment, which is selected from the album "Clouds" with APE format of 699kbps. This is an original song, and I think everyone should be familiar with Garfield's name. Her angelic voice is the best material to test the mid-frequency fullness of the machine. Through the audition, the default SL intermediate frequency presents a slightly neutral and cold texture, without too much rendering, but slightly stiff. When EQ is tuned to the voice file, the voice direction is obviously warmer, and Garfield's voice expresses the tune of music, as if she is singing softly in your ear. All three headphones performed well, basically reflecting Garfield's ethereal voice, but PT850B was a bit hard because it didn't boil. It is estimated that if cooked, the effect should be by going up one flight of stairs.
Symphony section:
I chose Liang Zhu from Sheng Zhongguo. Because the original APE file can't be played, I converted it into MP3 at 320kbps. Although it is not lossless compression, such a large bit rate should also reflect the true level of the equipment. It may be the first time to listen to Liang Zhu of Sheng Zhongguo. After listening to so many versions of butterfly lovers, I still think he is the best. Symphony can best reflect the full-frequency dynamic performance of equipment. At the same time, it also tests the detail performance ability of the equipment under the big dynamic situation. After the audition, it is concluded that the dynamic expression and details of SL are very good, better than those of Miniplayer and C260 before, and the violin, cello, flute and so on can be perfectly interpreted.
Electronic music part:
The selected song is "Die Another Day" sung by Madonna and FLAC in 948 Kbps format. This is typical electronic music with a certain bass. SL's voice is neutral, so the "electronic smell" will not be too strong. Interestingly, the auditory performance of PT850B is actually better than that of H800. It seems that H800 is not suitable for electronic music interpretation.
In addition, I also compared the sound quality of these MP3 players, and the conclusion is that SL wins by absolute advantage. In terms of large dynamic performance and resolution, it seems that the effect of replacing a new DAC is obvious. If you often listen to music, SL suits you very well.
5, video playback test
Because the main chip has not been replaced, the video index of SL still stays at the pitiful level of 384 KXVI and 20 fps, which is also reflected in the actual test. I used my own promo and 1080P HD trailer for this video, and the bee movie downloaded from Apple's website. Using WisMencoder 1.99 coding, the mode is high-quality Miniplayer, and the frame number is adjusted to 22fps. From the test process, SL has the phenomenon of frame dropping, and the picture effect is obviously discounted because of the low bit rate. But seeing my former friends, the effect is acceptable. Because the original expectations were not high, the situation was still expected.
