Functional exercise can improve blood circulation inside and outside joints, prevent muscle atrophy, joint fiber adhesion and dysfunction of metabolic process, enhance the muscle strength and flexibility of lumbar muscles, dorsal muscles and lower limb muscles, restore abnormal intervertebral joints and spinal stiffness to normal, and ensure the normal balance of spinal physiological structure and function. Many patients are weak because of long-term suffering from illness. If you blindly carry out high-intensity endurance training, it will only lead to more and more weakness. In addition, it is important to keep the correct posture every day! When standing, try to hold your chest high and raise your head. When sitting, try to stretch your back. It is not advisable to sit on a low stool. You must sleep in a flat bed for life, use a low pillow, sleep on your back or prone as much as possible, and straighten your knees when sleeping. Don't sleep with your knees curled up. For most patients with ankylosing spondylitis, the functional exercise that accompanies them for a lifetime is like sailing against the current. If you don't advance, you will retreat. Giving up not only means giving up all previous efforts, but also means endless future troubles.
