What is a laser displacement sensor?
Laser displacement sensor can accurately and non-contact measure the position and displacement change of the measured object, which is mainly used to measure the geometric quantities such as displacement, thickness, vibration, distance and diameter of the measured object.
According to the measurement principle, the principle of laser displacement sensor is divided into laser triangulation and laser echo analysis. Laser triangulation is generally suitable for high-precision short-distance measurement, and laser echo analysis is used for long-distance measurement. The following two measuring methods of laser displacement sensor principle are introduced respectively.
Working principle of laser displacement sensor;
Working principle of laser displacement sensor The laser displacement sensor is measured by using the triangle pythagorean theorem. In the working process of the laser displacement sensor, the laser displacement transmitter will emit red laser light from the lens to the surface of the object, and a series of reflections will appear on the surface of the object, one of which will return to our laser displacement sensor as reflected light. At this time, everyone will detect it according to the angle of light reflection and the distance of the laser displacement sensor. Has our measuring point changed? It is not that the light beam is processed by analog and electronic digital at the position of the receiving element, and then the corresponding output value is calculated by internal micro-processing, and then the output value is adjusted, and then a beam of light is emitted to the object. At this time, this beam of light can adjust our displacement distance.
Application of laser displacement sensor
1, dimension measurement: tiny position identification; Monitor whether there are parts on the conveyor belt; Detection of material overlap and coverage; Control of manipulator position (tool center position); Equipment state detection; Equipment position detection (through small holes); Liquid level monitoring; Measurement of thickness; Vibration analysis; Collision test measurement; Automobile related tests, etc.
2. Thickness measurement of metal plate and thin plate: Laser sensor measures the thickness of metal plate (thin plate). Detecting thickness changes helps to find wrinkles, pinholes or overlaps, thus avoiding machine failures.
3. Measurement of cylinder barrel, including angle, length, eccentricity, taper, concentricity and surface profile of inner diameter and outer diameter.
4. Length measurement: put the measured component on the conveyor belt at the designated position, the laser sensor detects the component, and measure it with the trigger laser scanner at the same time, and finally get the length of the component.
5. Uniformity inspection: several laser sensors are placed in the oblique direction of the movement of the workpiece to be measured, and the measured value is directly output through one sensor. In addition, you can use the software to calculate the measured values and read the results according to the signals or data.
6. Inspection of electronic components: As shown in the following figure, two laser scanners are placed face to face, and the components to be tested are placed between them. Finally, the data is read by the sensor, so as to detect the accuracy and integrity of the part size.
7. Detection of the filling level in the production line: The laser sensor is integrated into the manufacturing of the filled product, and when the filled product passes through the sensor, whether it is full or not can be detected. Using the extended program of laser beam reflector, the sensor can accurately identify whether the filled products are qualified and the number of products.
Characteristics and limitations of laser displacement sensor
It has the characteristics of strong adaptability, high speed and high precision, and is suitable for detecting the size and shape and position errors of various rotating bodies and box parts. It can also be used in conjunction with the fast feedback tracking system, which can quickly measure the shape and contour of the surface, but it has the problem of high cost, and the generating device is relatively complex and bulky, so the application scope of the laser displacement sensor is required to be higher.
