I'll give you seven points to pay attention to, and you can study those two yourself.
First: the choice of tools
Chinese medicine tells us that it is best to cook Chinese medicine in a casserole. This is what we usually call casserole. These casseroles are made of ceramics, which can give full play to the efficacy of Chinese medicine. In addition, stainless steel is also a good material choice, which will not rust and is more common in the market. However, it should be noted that you should never choose an iron pot or a copper pot to cook Chinese medicine, which will affect the efficacy.
Second: do a good job of cleaning.
In fact, most of the medicinal materials bought in professional pharmacies don't need to be cleaned, so don't worry about being unclean. If you must clean the medicinal materials, you only need to put them in clear water for quick cleaning. Do not soak them for cleaning. If the medicinal materials that need to be boiled are small particles, such as plantain seeds and cassia seeds, they must be protected during the cleaning process and must not be washed away.
Third: the amount of water.
It is important to cook with clean water, so the amount of water needs to be specially selected. Many people say that three bowls of water are enough for cooking medicinal materials. Is this statement really correct? In fact, this method is not scientific, because first of all, the bowl size of each family is different. When boiling traditional Chinese medicine, the added water must be able to drown the water surface of the medicinal materials for two to three centimeters, or you can press the medicinal materials with your hands and just overflow the back of your hand. It is particularly important to note that some Chinese herbal medicines, especially flowers and plants, absorb a lot of water. After soaking in clean water for half an hour, the water level will drop. At this time, we should continue to add some, and then start to boil Chinese herbal medicines.
Fourth: temperature.
Experienced old Chinese medicine practitioners tell us that the temperature will also affect the curative effect of Chinese medicine. It is suggested that when decocting traditional Chinese medicine, use big fire first, and then change to small fire after decocting. However, if you are cooking some drugs with the efficacy of treating exogenous diseases, you should continue to get angry after boiling water and cook for about fifteen minutes.
Fifth: the time to boil Chinese medicine
Many people are concerned about the time it takes to cook Chinese medicine. Under normal circumstances, fire water is boiled before simmering. If it is a common Chinese medicine, the first decocting time should be controlled at about 20 to 25 minutes, and the second decocting time should be controlled at about 15 to 20 minutes. If the effect of decocting traditional Chinese medicine is to relieve exterior syndrome, then the first decocting time should be reduced to 10 to 15 minutes, and the second decocting time should be about 10 minutes. If it is important for nourishing, then it is necessary to appropriately increase the decocting time, the first time is controlled within half an hour to forty minutes, and the second time is controlled within twenty-five minutes to half an hour.
Sixth: Matters needing attention in the second decoction of traditional Chinese medicine
Chinese medicine need not be decocted once. Generally, Chinese medicine needs to be decocted twice. If it is nourishing Chinese medicine, the number of decoctions needs to be increased, for example, about three times. If it is a prescription with a large dose prescribed by some doctors, it is best to fry it for about three times in order to better ooze the efficacy.
It is recommended that patients mix the decocted liquid medicine twice and take it twice. If it is a Chinese herbal medicine that has survived three times, you can make an analogy. After being taken in this way, the drug effect is more balanced and discomfort to the body is avoided.
Seventh: liquid medicine filtration.
It is suggested that the decoction be filtered immediately after cooking, and the traditional Chinese medicine should not be put in the pot for a long time, which will affect the efficacy.
