How are oysters raised?
There are generally four methods to cultivate oysters, namely "cutting", "hanging", "hanging" and "floating shed" The first three species are raised in intertidal zone and can bask in the sun at low tide; "Floating shed" oysters have been immersed in the deep sea for a long time, which are rich in nutrition and grow fast and fat. 1. The earliest method of cutting branches is to directly tie oyster shells to bamboo slices split in half and insert them on the beach, so that oyster seedlings can naturally attach, saving cost and manpower, but it is rarely used at present because of its slow growth speed and low benefit. 2. The horizontal hanging type takes bamboo as the base column, adds two rows of cross bars, and hangs oyster strings in parallel between the cross bars, which is suitable for shallow intertidal beaches, about one meter. 3. Hanging type is to erect the base column first, then erect a long square on it with bamboo poles or plastic pipes, and hang the oyster string vertically, perpendicular to the water flow, so as to increase the chance of feeding. The depth of seawater in the culture area is deeper than that in the flat hanging type, mostly in the inner bay and tidal ditch. 4. The floating shed type is to directly use styrofoam as a floating tool, connect horizontally with thick ropes in the middle, and then hang several strings of oysters vertically with thick ropes, which is also called rope culture. The suspension depth is relatively deep, which can reach 3 stories high. It's more vulnerable to flatworms.
