In 1967 (1978), Okinawa historians came to Taiwan Province again, and in Japan, Ryukyu and Taiwan Province, they promoted the restoration of the tombs of victims in Taiwan Province Province and Ryukyu residents. In 70 years of the Republic of China (198 1), the Pingtung county government and the Checheng Town Office agreed to start construction, and the reconstruction was completed in March of 70 years of the Republic of China (71), but the word "Great Japan" was erased from the tombstone. 1989 (2000) The inscription "Great Japan" was restored to its original appearance.

It was founded in the 13th year of Tongzhi (1874) and completed in the 2nd year of Guangxu (1876). At that time, there were seven sandbar islands in the south of Anping, including one to seven Kun 'e, and the fort was located on Erkun 'e, so it was called "Erkun 'e Fort". Because there is Shen Baozhen's "Billion Huang Jincheng" above the gate of the fort, it is also called "Billion Huang Jincheng" or "Anping Big Fort".
