Quanzhou is round. In the morning of Quanzhou Winter Festival, sweet pill soup will be cooked to worship ancestors, and then the whole family will have sweet pill soup for breakfast. Some people will leave a few rice balls after dinner and stick them on the door, which is called "respecting the door god". In order to increase the festive atmosphere, you can also mix some glutinous rice flour and food coloring into red and white balls, which are round and slippery, symbolizing round and round.
3. Xiamen ginger duck. A dish that Xiamen people must eat in winter solstice is ginger duck. Ginger duck is made of muscovy duck with red face, fried with fragrant oil, and stewed with ginger and rice wine. Not only is the sebum golden, the fragrance is attractive, but it also has the effect of nourishing and moistening.
4. Zhangzhou sugar circle. It is a custom in Zhangzhou to eat sugar balls on the solstice in winter. On the eve of the festival, every household grinds glutinous rice into balls and puts them on bamboo curtains. The next morning, it was boiled with brown sugar as a holiday breakfast. Different from jiaozi with stuffing in other regions, jiaozi in Zhangzhou mostly takes whole glutinous rice balls as stuffing, and is directly boiled with round soup made of brown sugar water.
5. Putian "Winter Solstice Pill". There is a saying in Putian that the solstice in winter is as big as every year. The night before the winter solstice, the family gathered around a big dustpan, added boiling water to knead glutinous rice flour into round strips, picked them into big round blanks, and then kneaded them into "balls" with their palms.
