What's the difference between making a living and living?
I think there is an essential difference between making a living and living. Making a living is simply to survive, while living is to pursue higher quality and spirit under the premise of survival. Life is a sublimation of making a living.

We often meet many people who work hard for a living. They lead a hard life and suffer a lot. Every time I see them, I feel extremely sad. Many times I want to help them, but at the same time I clearly understand that my meager strength is just a drop in the bucket and can't change their embarrassing situation at all.

These people have their own way of making a living. Someone rummaged through trash cans in the street and picked up some items that could be sold for money. Some people kneel and beg in crowded places. Some people sit in front of the store and sell bundles of poor vegetables. Others get up early to sell sewing, shoes and socks.

In their lives, there is only one thought at any time, that is, to earn enough living expenses for one day and let themselves and their families live a life of food and clothing, and there is nothing else. They will not consider which food tastes better or which clothes look better, as long as they can eat enough and wear warm clothes.

I saw a picture on the internet. A middle-aged migrant worker is sitting in the snow eating a steamed bun. The white breath he exhaled stood out in the cool photos. His nose hangs on the tip of his nose as if it were frozen. His eyes were full of tears. The narrator is that he is waiting for someone to hire him to work to earn a day's family expenses.

In cold weather and snowy season, I don't think anyone will have the courage to sit on the cold ground and chew a hard steamed bread. And his only motivation is to earn money and live. This is making a living. In order to survive, no matter how hard you try, the rest is no longer important.

Sometimes, there is a fine line between making a living and living.

I once came across a photo taken by passers-by. On his wife's birthday, an old beggar bought a small cake with the money he begged. After eating the cake, they helped each other and left. In this indifferent world, this photo makes me feel the warmth that is hard to find.

For the old couple, begging is their livelihood, and that birthday cake has become one of the few happy lives in their long and poor days.

For most people, their life is not just a small cake, they pursue a richer and more fulfilling life.

In order to make their life better, they will buy all kinds of favorite goods to satisfy themselves, they will learn all kinds of skills to enrich themselves, they will exercise to make themselves stronger, and they will communicate effectively with others to get good contacts and resources.

These are all part of life. In their own way, they let themselves survive and live a better life, breaking away from the framework of making a living and rising to a higher level.

Therefore, making a living and living are two completely different States, making a living is the foundation and life is the extension.
