Six chapters of floating life
brief introduction
It is one of his autobiographical works, and it is also a memoir of Shen. "Floating life" means floating life all one's life, which comes from the feeling that "floating life is like a dream, for pleasure geometry" in Li Bai's Preface to Peach and Plum Gardens. There are six kinds of original records in Six Chapters of a Floating Life, but there are four existing ones: the boudoir's music, the leisure music, the rough sorrow and the quick travel notes. The last two books, Sun Yat-sen's Calendar and Health Preservation, have been lost. They described their experiences for most of their lives in a simple style, and the contrast between emotions and sorrows was really touching. Lin Yutang, a master of modern Chinese literature, once translated Six Chapters of a Floating Life into English and introduced it to the United States, which was also praised by famous artists such as Yu Pingbo. In the twenty-ninth year of Daoguang (1849), Wang Tao wrote an afterword for it, praising it as "touching and infatuated between pen and ink." "Six Chapters of a Floating Life" and other books adopt the technique of "preface and postscript".
trait
In the 13th year of Jiaqing (AD 1808), he wrote the autobiographical novel Six Chapters of a Floating Life from May to October.
The author described his experience for most of his life in a simple style, and the joy and sadness matched each other, which was really touching. The book describes that he and his wife, Chen Yun, are congenial and have deep feelings. They are willing to live a carefree life and engage in art. Due to the oppression of feudal ethics and the suffering of poor life, their ideals are finally shattered and they have experienced the pain of where you will go. Following Li Qingzhao's Preface to the Records of the Stone in the Song Dynasty and Gui Youguang's Ling Xuan Zhi in the Ming Dynasty, the author described the family life of the couple at a long length in Six Chapters of a Floating Life, which is really rare in China's ancient literature. The book has unique comments on landscape gardens, diet and daily life.
During Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty, Yang Yinchuan got the manuscript of this book in a cold stall in Suzhou, and the last two books were lost. In the twenty-ninth year of Daoguang (1849), Wang Tao wrote an afterword for it, praising the book "between pen and ink, touching and infatuated". In the third year of Guangxu (1877), Yang Yinchuan was handed over to the Shanghai Customs Office for printing, and it has been 70 years since. The Beautifying Masterpieces Series published by World Bookstore 1935 includes Six Chapters of a Floating Life, and both supplements are forgeries.
introduce
Six Chapters of a Floating Life is an autobiographical novel written by Shen Fu in the 13th year of Jiaqing (1808). Yang Yinchuan, the brother-in-law of Wang Tao in the Qing Dynasty, found the remnant draft of Six Chapters of a Floating Life in a cold stall in Suzhou, with only four volumes, and gave it to Wang Tao, who was in charge of reporting Wenzunge in Shanghai at that time, and published it as movable type 1877. The second dictionary of a floating life tells Li Bai's poem Preface to the Spring Banquet in Taoliyuan that "the husband of heaven and earth, everything goes against the course;" Time flies, and a hundred generations fly by. And floating like a dream, for the joy of geometry? " .
synopsis
Six Chapters of a Floating Life focuses on the life of the author and his wife, which is better than what they saw and heard in A Wandering World. It is an ordinary and interesting family life. The work describes that the author and his wife, Chen Yun, are congenial and want to live a life of food, clothing, housing and art. Due to the oppression of feudal ethics and the suffering of poor life, their ideals are finally shattered. The text of this book is fresh and true, with no traces of carving and modification, and the plot is affectionate to death; It begins with joy, ends with worry, and gradually drifts away, making people sad and moving. In addition, this book also includes a famous work "Memories of Mei Ying 'an" by a famous person in Qing Dynasty who took the initiative to mourn Dong Xiaowan, a famous prostitute in Qinhuai.
version
Wen Zunge's block-printed Six Chapters of a Floating Life is the earliest existing block-printed book in China, with Yang's life introduction and Wang Tao's inscription and postscript. In the preface to Yang Yinchuan, it is said that "six records are short of two". Wang Tao once said that he read this book when he was young (A.D. 1847 years ago), but unfortunately he didn't copy it. He often missed it during his exile in Hong Kong. 1849 Wang Tao didn't say that he had read the whole book when he was young.
From 65438 to 0936, Lin Yutang translated four chapters of Six Chapters of a Floating Life into English and serialized them in Tianxia Monthly. Later, he published a bilingual booklet with a long preface. Lin Yutang wrote in the preface: "Yun, in my opinion, is the most lovely woman in China literature." I also guess that "there must be a complete book in Suzhou's family collection or second-hand bookstore."
Soon after, a complete manuscript appeared in a cold stall in Suzhou, with five volumes and six volumes, which was actually forged for future generations.
Yu Pingbo wrote Six Chapters of a Floating Life on the basis of the first four chapters of Six Chapters of a Floating Life.

Note: In the autumn of 2005, Peng Ling, a native of Pingyao, found a manuscript named Notes Beads in the "Ghost Market" in Nanjing Chaotian Palace. After expert appraisal, it was confirmed as the first draft of Guo Hai Zhi, the fifth volume of Six Chapters of a Floating Life written by Shen Fu, a writer in Qing Dynasty.
In the fifth chapter of Six Chapters of a Floating Life, Shen Fu described the experience of the Qing delegation passing through the Diaoyu Islands.
1808 (in the 13th year of Jiaqing), the imperial court issued an imperial decree conferring the title of King Ryukyu, and appointed Qi Kun, the official envoy of Taishi, and Fei Xizhang as the deputy envoys. Shen Fu, as the "scribe inkstone" of Taishi, also went with him.
In the lost article, it is recorded as follows: "In the thirteenth year of Jiaqing, there was a decree conferring the title of Ryukyu King ... 13 saw the Diaoyutai, which looked like a pen. Sacrificing to Heishuigou from a distance, I prayed to Tianhou ... 14 morning, I vaguely saw Gumi Mountain and entered the Ryukyu World ... "
Shen Fu's Six Chapters of a Floating Life was included in the second-grade Chinese textbook of People's Education Publishing House.
A passage from Shen Fu's "Six Chapters of a Floating Life, Idle Feelings" was included in the first volume of the first Chinese textbook of People's Education Publishing House and named as "Childish Fun".
Some chapters of Shen Fu's Six Chapters of a Floating Life have also been included in the first volume of the first Chinese textbook of the Soviet Education Edition, named "Childhood Notes".
A passage from Shen Fu's "Six Chapters of a Floating Life, Idle Feelings" was also included in the first volume of the seventh-grade Chinese textbook published by He Da University, and it was named "Childlike Feelings".

Another Case-solving in Six Chapters of a Floating Life (Comment)
Six Chapters of a Floating Life is a masterpiece of Shen Fu in Qing Dynasty. Shen Fu, with three characters in white, was an unknown scholar in Suzhou during Ganjia. Six Chapters of a Floating Life is an autobiographical essay with only 30,000 words. After writing, the manuscript was scattered and almost forgotten. Punctuation 1924 collated by Yu Pingbo was first published as a single book, and then it was published by many publishers. Since the new century, there have been several editions, which shows that the book has been welcomed and widely spread by readers.
I have a copy of Six Chapters of a Floating Life published in August, 2000, Jiangsu Ancient Books Publishing House. One of them, Guan Yi Calyx, was a Yang Laker in Qing Dynasty, which aroused my interest. Check the information and find that the name is wrong. It should be Guan Yi. This word is relatively uncommon, which was derived from several generations in the family.
Guan Yizhou added a subtitle to Shen He's Six Chapters of a Floating Life. These are the first two songs:
Liu Fanxian's life was rare, so he glanced at Feng Hua and flew away separately.
Winning the red boudoir spreads a good story, and people lose weight in autumn.
The haze has turned into a flat monthly fee, and it has turned into leisure and everything is busy.
It is not easy to be blessed by the world of mortals, but it does not harm the spring stone.
It can be seen that this Guan is a very elegant figure. According to the information collected by Mr. Huang Jianmin, Guan Yilan is Guan Ganzhen's grandson, a juren in the 18th year of Jiaqing, a poet in Gushi County, Henan Province, and the author of Xiangmian Zhai Ci Cao and Jianzhai Shi Chao.
In fact, as early as1980s, Mr. Yu Pingbo, a famous scholar who published the book on time, pointed out this mistake in newspapers and periodicals. However, the wrong name "Guan Yi Calyx" has been passed down to this day with the publishing attitude of many publishing houses. Unfortunately, the name "Guan Yi Calyx" always appears in Six Chapters of a Floating Life, but the name of Guan Yi Calyx can't be found in the book. For example, the ancient Soviet edition of Six Chapters of a Floating Life in my hand is obviously a new century edition, but it is still a "stubborn habit".
Huang Shang, a famous writer and bibliophile, has many contacts with Yu Pingbo. 198 1 year, Yu wrote a letter to Huang, in which the name calyx was really a problem. The letter said: "Before the publication of this book, I exhibited and collected a poem entitled Six Chapters of a Floating Life entitled" Chopping Things Like Zhai Shi Chao ",and the collection post was signed" The edge of the book in Guan Yi, Yanghu ". According to the six records of the old version and the current version, it is "to calyx", or the word is wrong, or the name change is unknown, and the word "嗯嗯" can never be wrong. Glad to correct this word. Smell it and be flat. "
Because the publication of old books does not involve manuscript fees, copyrights, etc. Publishing houses have benefited a lot from reprinting ancient books. As far as I can see, in Six Chapters of a Floating Life published by well-known domestic publishing houses such as People's Literature, Hunan Literature and Art, Guangling Bookstore, Beijing Publishing House, Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, Anhui People's Publishing House and Yuelu Bookstore, the transition from "managing calyx" to "managing calyx" is very rare in recent 30 years, which seems to explain the current attitude towards research and publishing.
Shen Fu and his wife.
Chen Yun is Shen Fu's cousin and grew up in Shen Fu in October. They are young and have no guesses. Yunyun was born smart, and after embroidery, she gradually became familiar with chanting. Shen Fu was as talented as possible and got married. And the dragon, laughing side by side in the dusk of flowers and candles, suddenly reunited with close friends. Since then, we have been intimate, and it is always elegant and ridiculous to talk about literary criticism and poetry. They have been playing the piano for twenty-three years, and the longer they play, the closer they get. Within the family, their peers sit together. At first they will avoid others, but after a long time, they will be indifferent.
On Tanabata, Shen Fu wrote the seal "May we be husband and wife forever". Shen Fu wrote to Zhu Wen and Chen Yun wrote to Bai Wen. They also ask people to paint old people under the moon and often burn incense and pray so that they can get married in the afterlife. Chen Yun didn't cherish jewelry very much, but he did cherish it in his broken books and paintings. Yun tasted Shen Fu's clothes, traveled with her husband, and they met. Later, Yun broke up with her in-laws, and the couple were expelled from their homes several times. They are infatuated with each other and have no complaints. The affection between them deepened, but Yun finally died of frequent blood diseases. Because of poverty, Yun refused to seek medical treatment until he died, and only cared about fate and the afterlife when he died. Non-success is dead, but Shen Fu's feelings for her are endless. The deeds of Shen Fu and Chen Yun are described in detail in Shen Fu's autobiography Six Chapters of a Floating Life.
Shen Fu and his wife were not allowed by the family. Of course, there were some factors such as fighting for property within the family, villains fiddling with right and wrong, deliberately framing, etc., but the most essential reason was that their frank personality style conflicted with feudal ethics. From the perspective of parents and tradition, Shen Fu is the black sheep who doesn't think about studying, and Chen Yun is a bad wife. Despite all kinds of changes, Shen Fu never repented for his conduct. He is confident that loving Chen Yun is the proper duty of husband and wife, and his talent is beyond reproach, so he dares to open his heart and be honest with each other. He may not be a great man, but he is definitely a strange man.
Shen Fu's article "Tong Qu" (also known as Tong Qu or childhood fun) was included in the fifth lesson of the Chinese textbook for the first year of the People's Education Publishing House (the seventh lesson of the Chinese textbook for the first year of the Soviet Education Press).
Memories of Childhood Shen Fu (Six Chapters of a Floating Life-Memories of Leisure) Volume II
When I recall my childhood, I can look at the sun with my eyes open and see the details clearly. When I see small things, I have to check their texture carefully, so I am interested in things outside.
In summer, mosquitoes turn thunder, and privately plan to let a group of cranes dance in the air. If you want it, you will have a thousand, and if you want it, you will have a crane. Looking up, Xiang Qiang (Jiang "stiff" stiff). Mosquitoes are left in the vegetarian account, and smoke is allowed to fly, making it a scene of white cranes in Qingyun, and the fruit is like a crane (reading Li's "Four Birds Singing") in the clouds, which is refreshing.
I often crouch in the concave and convex parts of the earth wall, in the grass of the flower bed, so that I can be flush with the platform; If you look closely, you can enjoy yourself wandering among the bushes, insects and ants as beasts, convex soil and gravel as hills and hollow valleys (valleys or large puddles).
One day, I saw two bugs mowing grass, and I was in the middle. Suddenly, a monster came from the mountain, fell from the tree and covered a frog. My tongue spit out and two bugs swallowed it. I was young and lost in thought, but I was surprised. God decided to catch frogs, whip dozens and drive them out of the hospital.
Translation of Children's Fun/Leisure Fun
I recall when I was a child, I could look straight at the sun with my eyes wide open, and I could see the smallest things clearly. When I see tiny things, I have to check their textures carefully, so I often feel happiness beyond the things themselves.
In summer (at night), mosquitoes make thunderous sounds. (i) Privately compare them to a flock of cranes flying in the air. I thought to myself, sometimes hundreds of mosquitoes really become cranes; Looking up, my neck became stiff because of this. (I) leave a few mosquitoes in the white curtain, slowly spray them with smoke and let them sing to the smoke. (I compare this scene to) the landscape of white cranes flying in Qingyun. Sure enough, they are like white cranes flying in the clouds, because I applaud happily.
I often bend down to make my body as high as the flower bed with uneven soil wall and overgrown weeds. Concentrate on careful observation, regard the grassland as a forest, imagine insects and ants as wild animals, compare the raised clods to hills, and compare the sunken places to ravines, and (I) will wander freely and enjoy myself in them.
One day, (I) saw two bugs fighting in the grass, and (I) observed it carefully. Just when I was in high spirits, suddenly a huge guy jumped up with great momentum. It's a shrimp frog! As soon as it stuck out its tongue, it ate two bugs. I was young, lost in thought, and could not help but exclaim. Settle down, catch the frog, whip it dozens of times and rush to another yard.
