How to judge whether you are yin deficiency or yang deficiency?
In daily life, we often have dry eyes, headache, cold, fever, stagnation of liver qi or feeling weak. Some people think that toothache and sore throat are all virtual fire, so whether it is like this or not, the conclusion is not completely valid. Any problems are analyzed in detail. Yang deficiency and yin deficiency are the same. Although they are all insufficient and need to be supplemented, it is difficult to judge in daily life. Therefore, it is very important to judge them. We can judge them from some physical symptoms.

Yin deficiency is a term of traditional Chinese medicine, as opposed to Yang deficiency, which refers to the pathological phenomenon of insufficient essence and blood or body fluid. Because both blood essence and body fluid belong to yin, it is called yin deficiency, which is more common in patients with yin internal friction after a long illness or fever. Yin deficiency mainly has the following manifestations:

First, yin and body fluid are insufficient. The body is in a state of water shortage, resulting in dry eyes, dry nose, dry mouth, rough skin and dry hair. Its typical symptoms are irritability, insomnia, dreaminess, dizziness, soreness of waist and knees, frequent urination, night sweats, fever of hands and feet, etc.

Second, it is easier to get angry. It is characterized by impatience, irritability, mood swings, and "anger" at every turn. Therefore, people with yin deficiency should always remind themselves to calm their nerves, maintain a stable mentality, and learn to transfer bad emotions in time.

Third, women have irregular menstruation. Often dull complexion, dark pigmentation, chloasma, butterfly spots breeding, easy to enter menopause prematurely, long-term low fever.

Yang deficiency is mostly caused by weakness of yang, exogenous pathogenic factors of yin and cold, and damage of yang, which mainly has the following symptoms:

First, I am afraid of the cold and my limbs are not warm. This is the most important symptom of yang deficiency. Yang is like the sun in nature. If it is insufficient, the internal environment will be in a "cold" state.

Second, the end of the valley remains unchanged. It means undigested food mixed in the stool. The ancients had an image metaphor for this phenomenon. The digestion of food is like cooking raw rice, the stomach is like a cooking pot, and the sun is like a cooking fire. Rice can't be cooked without fire. Therefore, when the yang is insufficient, the food entering the stomach cannot be digested well, but is directly discharged from the intestine.

Third, the spirit is sluggish. Due to the lack of yang, the life activities of cells will decline, so they will be sluggish and lazy.

Fourth, the tongue is light and fat, or there are teeth marks. The consumption and metabolism of water in the body depend on the transpiration of yang. If the yang is weak and the transpiration consumption of water and liquid is insufficient, too much water will accumulate in the body, resulting in fat tongue and tooth marks.

Fifth, the pulse is heavy and thin. Yang deficiency cannot stimulate blood vessels, so the pulse condition is heavy and weak.

Through the above comparison, we can distinguish between yin deficiency and yang deficiency, but we can only make a superficial judgment, which is not necessarily accurate. Moreover, simple yin deficiency and yang deficiency are also rare. Usually, yin deficiency and yang deficiency coexist, and it is necessary to consider the complementarity of yin and yang to achieve the goal. The final determination can not only be based on these differences and symptoms, but also on the pulse diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine.
