"Sleep" means "go to bed" and "sleep peacefully". There is a famous saying in Chinese medicine that "blood belongs to the liver when people lie down", that is to say, when people lie down, excess flowing blood is hidden in the liver.

"Sleep" is "bubble". For example, if you put a dry towel in water, a lot of water will be hidden in the towel. When a person's thoughts enter his blood, it is called immersion.

Why can't many people sleep? He would say, "I was sleepy, too, but I woke up when I was about to fall asleep." This is called "sleepless", because the soul or God can't soak in the blood.

Look at "sleep" again. There is a "vertical" in this word Where is the vertical? It's not drooping eyelids. Many people can't sleep with their eyelids closed. My eyes droop, which means my eyes are down.

When Huangdi Neijing said madness (madness is the prophase of depression), it mentioned a word-see it. What do you mean? It means roll your eyes, look up and turn up. This kind of person is absolutely unable to sleep.

Therefore, Taoist meditation has a sleeping skill: first, put down the curtain, that is, close your eyes, and then look down, eyes look at the nose, nose looks at the mouth, and mouth looks at the heart. Therefore, the word "droop" refers not to eyelids or eyelid problems, but to the direction of controlling the force or qi of the human eye.

According to research, in ancient times, a slave's being blinded in one eye was a symbol of his slave status. The kind of person who is blinded by stabbing is called "Min". Therefore, when the eyes turn a blind eye, that state is called sleep. Not all people sleep at night, but some people daydream.

In ancient medical books in China, there was a disease called "sleepless" instead of insomnia. This is a typical insomnia, and it is a manifestation of excessive heart fire. What do you mean? In other words, if you can't lie down, you have to turn over and sit up, walk around the ground, or even walk all night.

Judging from the understanding of dreams in Chinese medicine, these words are all involved. So what does it feel like to be awake? Let me say a few more words about sobriety.

Sleep (sleep, two sounds). Generally speaking, we will say that dreams are subjective feelings. Feeling and perception are subjective. I don't think you know. I don't think you did. So what's the difference between these two words? "Love" is unintentional, and "love" is tempted.

For example, there used to be a satirical limerick that said, "Touching your wife's hand is like touching your right hand with your left hand, and you have no feeling at all". In fact, if you look carefully, "it seems that your left hand has touched your right hand" means that you still feel something, but you don't feel shocked in your heart. This is a feeling without feeling.

Do we feel hot or cold when we sleep? Of course it will. We will push the quilt when it is hot, and we will pull the quilt next to it when it is cold. This shows that there is still sleep, but this sleep does not affect our sleep. If a person is asleep, he can always hear that the faucet in the bathroom is not closed tightly, and it is ringing "drip, drip, drip". Others can't hear it, but he can hear it, which shows that he is "too sensitive". Where's Min? It is "feeling". So he couldn't sleep, and there was a little trouble on the side. "Zhao's dog gave me another look." He could feel it. This shows that there is something wrong with his brain.

The traditional meaning of "Ning" is "thing". There is a room, a room to live, a meal to eat, and everyone has gone home. Finally, this heart is peaceful. Therefore, in ancient times, when a daughter went home to visit relatives, she was usually called "mothering". We often understand that "chicken and dog are restless" means that chickens fly and dogs jump, but it is not. It means that neither chickens nor dogs return to their nests. When people sleep, they will bring their thoughts back to the body, specifically to the liver and hide them in the blood. When sleeping, sensitive people have problems with their brains, so they will feel, their bodies will feel, and they will not sleep well.

Simply put, modern medicine calls "feeling" the spinal nerve reflex system, unmoved and unmoved. For example, there is a cup of boiled water here, and I took it back as soon as I touched it. It's called sleep. Does this require brains? If you think about it first: boiling water will be very hot, painful and infected ... and then take your hand back, it will be too late. "Sleep" is a reaction of body instinct.

From the perspective of Chinese medicine, this kind of spinal nerve reflex that does not exceed the brain is called "feeling". For example, when you see a beautiful girl, you can't help but take a look. This is "feeling". It's not that you fell in love with her at first sight. Even some people will have a physiological reaction when they see some sexy people, which is also a kind of "feeling" and they are not tempted.

Traditional Chinese medicine calls this unmoved system "God". We will say, "This man has real courage." Chairman Mao also said "savage his physique". In this movement of the brain, the only thing that dominates the human body is "spirit".

The system of commanding a higher level is a system involving people's emotions, emotions and temptations, which is called "God" by Chinese medicine. In the evening, "small death", a large part of the gods rest, but there are still some gods at work, and we call this part of the working god the soul. They are like two sides of the same coin, calling God by day and soul by night. What do you mean, "head over heels"? Is to sleep during the day and work at night. This is selfless, contrary to life, and does not follow the law of yin and yang changes.

Both "soul" and "spirit" carry the word "ghost". Ghost, return also. The state of returning to the origin after death is called "ghost". This is not a feudal superstition, but a state of human spiritual activity, which is stretched when alive-God is called stretching, masculine, and after death is called ghost. Then, in the state of "small death", the kind of mental activity that appears in the state where the small flame of God and deity is extinguished has the meaning of "ghost". In addition, what do you mean by "white" and "cloud" in "soul" and "spirit"? In fact, they all mean words, such as "so-and-so cloud", "unintelligible" and "dialogue".

"Spirit" also refers to the moon and moonlight. When the moon begins to reflect a little sunlight and a crescent moon appears, it is a new moon. The new moon is inverted C-shaped, and the C-shaped moon is called the waning moon. The new moon gradually grows from a little to a full moon, which is called "living spirit" in ancient astronomy. It gradually becomes smaller from the full moon until it disappears, which is called "the necromancer".

Chinese medicine believes that sleep means that we live in the light of God during the day, and at night people lie down, blood returns to the liver, and the soul is hidden in the liver. At this time, the spirit is still working, that is, the spinal nerve reflex system I mentioned earlier is still working, while some nerves in the brain or some areas of the cerebral cortex are at rest.
