What should diabetics pay attention to when exercising? Is it better to exercise in the afternoon or in the morning?
Many diabetics pay special attention to diet, but many people have no clear direction in "exercise therapy". If diabetics exercise, they should also pay attention to their methods. The wrong method and time will also affect the exercise effect, and may even have the opposite effect.

Is it better for diabetics to exercise in the morning or in the afternoon?

People often say that "a day's plan lies in the morning". Morning time is precious, so many people like to exercise in the morning, but in fact, it is more beneficial to exercise at night. Because most patients with morning exercises are on an empty stomach, it is easy to induce hypoglycemia, especially not to exercise in cold or foggy mornings. For diabetics, it is better to exercise at night than in the morning. At dusk, people's heart rate and blood pressure are the most stable. Therefore, exercise at this time has the best human comfort, which can relax the mood and eliminate the tension during the day. Pay attention to the following points when exercising:

(1) can't exercise on an empty stomach.

Fasting exercise is prone to hypoglycemia, causing dizziness, fatigue and sweating, which is very dangerous for diabetic patients. It is also possible to get dizzy because of this situation. Therefore, for the sake of health, it is suggested to exercise for half an hour after meals, or eat snacks such as biscuits and bread before exercise. Carry a small amount of biscuits and candy with you during exercise to prevent hypoglycemia symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue during exercise.

(2) Monitor blood sugar before exercise.

Low blood sugar can lead to hypoglycemia, but if the blood sugar is greater than 13.9mmol/L, exercise is unsafe. Because high blood sugar during exercise will cause the body to produce a substance called ketoacid, which will cause acidosis. In addition, exercise can increase heart rate and blood pressure, easily induce arrhythmia, lack of oxygen supply to the brain, and even lead to syncope and fall. Therefore, it is very necessary to monitor blood sugar before exercise and adjust your exercise amount according to the data.

(3) Exercise should be moderate.

Diabetic patients should carry out moderate and low-intensity rhythmic exercise, such as brisk walking, jogging, playing badminton and dancing in square dance. If strenuous exercise is easy to make blood sugar fluctuate and diabetic patients' own heart, brain and kidney blood vessels are damaged, it is very easy to have accidents such as cerebral hemorrhage and myocardial infarction. Replenish water in time during exercise, and resume activities for 5~ 10 minutes after exercise to stabilize the heart rate. Don't take a cold bath right away. After rest, you can take a hot bath. Wipe your sweat in time to avoid catching cold, and don't go into the air-conditioned room immediately.

(4) The later you exercise, the better.

However, it should be remembered that exercising well at night does not mean that the later you exercise, the better. Because after 10 in the afternoon, human vital signs gradually tend to be calm, preparing for sleep. If you exercise at this time, especially strenuous exercise, your body will be in an excited state, which will affect the stability of sleep, blood sugar and blood pressure. Therefore, diabetic patients are advised not to exercise after 10 in the afternoon.

Whether it is morning exercise or evening exercise, as long as we insist on regular exercise every day and cooperate with drugs, it is good for the physical and mental health of diabetic patients. I wish all diabetic friends can control their blood sugar and be healthy every day. Especially during the current fight against the epidemic, it is particularly important for sugar friends to adhere to a regular lifestyle, take medicine according to doctor's advice, avoid blood sugar fluctuations and improve their immunity.
