There is a saying in the northeast: "Twenty-three stoves go to heaven, twenty-four words write, twenty-five dusts sweep, twenty-six years old meat preparation, twenty-seven years old chicken killing, twenty-eight handfuls of dough", and almost every day is a busy year. According to the folk saying, don't use knives and scissors from the first day to the fifth day of the first month. Therefore, the Manchu people in Jilin cut all the things they want to eat in the days before New Year's Eve, such as sticky bean buns, pork and jiaozi.
