There are many ways to sit on a plate. When everyone thinks of sitting on a plate, they think of a lotus plate, and immediately find it difficult to sit like this. In fact, there are many kinds of sitting postures, besides the lotus plate that we often think of (that is, putting the ankle of the left foot and the ankle of the right foot on the thigh of the other foot), there is also a kind of "scattered plate". We often say that we just need to fold our feet in the direction of the other leg, not necessarily on the other leg, but put our ankles on the floor in front of the meeting.
There is also a kind of sitting, which is to pull the heel of the second foot closer to the body and reach their own meeting, with the left palm down and the right palm up, overlapping together. This is also a common sitting posture.
Why are you sitting on a plate? The purpose of sitting on the dish is to help us spread our thighs and calves, and let us sit down with our coccyx down, so that we can sit more stably. Another advantage is that if we fold our legs and keep the same posture for a few minutes, the blood will not flow to the lower body again. In other words, the path of our blood circulation has become shorter, shortened by more than half. This is very helpful to improve the blood circulation of the upper body. Some people will have a slight fever in their upper body after sitting for a while. That's the reason. In addition, after sitting for a while, opening your legs will make you feel that blood will rush to the lower body, which will also improve people with poor blood circulation in the lower body. However, many religious people do not want to strengthen blood circulation, but after sitting for a while, they will find that their thinking will slow down, which will help us calm down and enter the meditation stage.
Why did you sit for a long time?
I believe that no matter how you cross your legs before, you must have had the same experience: after sitting for about ten minutes, your feet began to feel bloated and numb, and after a little longer, you would feel numb and painful, so you must loosen your legs, right? Beginners should not panic in this situation, because it is normal. As long as you master two key points, you can make yourself less painful.
First, you can put a cushion under the coccyx (you can use yoga bricks, strong pillows, etc. ), about 10 cm high, can make you sit comfortably. Why? Because after we put the pelvis high, we can make the thigh parallel to the ground as much as possible, which can slightly reduce the pressure on the thigh muscles of the hip joint. This will make us sit straighter, more stable and longer.
Also, we must sit on the board step by step, and we must not be in a hurry. You can start from 10 minutes at a time and increase it by 5~ 10 minutes every week. Moreover, it is not recommended for beginners to use the lotus board posture, because it may not be possible at first; Or, even if you barely do it, your posture is incorrect or you can't stand it after sitting for a few minutes, but it will be counterproductive. Therefore, I suggest that beginners can start with loosening the plate and practice posture to make their hip joints, lower back muscles, thigh muscles and even ankles looser, and then try the lotus plate.
Other options,
Practice meditation or breathing, or sit quietly in a chair. The main reason is that novices don't want to sit in a sitting position, but their backs are not straight, their bones are unstable, or they spend too much time in posture and don't enter the situation of sitting or breathing. So I suggest that they try to practice in the chair first.
Another alternative sitting posture is sitting with legs crossed like a * * person, that is, king kong sit. If you are afraid that your knee will hurt after sitting for a long time, you can put a cushion under your knee and a cushion in your knee socket, which can reduce the pressure on your knee and make it easier to sit up.
No matter which way you sit, please remember to sit up straight. As for how long to sit, it depends on your own situation, so don't be too reluctant. You don't have to worry. Sitting for twenty minutes every day will make your pelvis bigger. After all, time is not long. However, I don't advise you to sit on the board all day, because sitting on the board all day will really deform the bone plate.
