I'm afraid this is not the case. As far as gay men I know are concerned (only those who openly admit their sexual orientation, well, my college life is amazing), they all look alike, at least in appearance. I think the idea that GAY is handsome may come from the prejudice of the media, because the rotten female culture mainly comes from some BL novels. Such works of art often portray GAY as handsome, and the media are keen to report such same-sex couples to meet the psychological expectations of the public (Fu), thus enhancing the appeal of the news, which in turn creates such a stereotype in society.
