Pangasius hypanthalmus (English name: Pangasius hypanthalmus), also known as Vietnamese pomfret, fighting pomfret and pomfret, is a kind of freshwater fish, mainly distributed in freshwater rivers and reservoirs in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
Crispy pomfret has become a world-famous aquaculture species and one of Vietnam's main aquatic products exports because of its tender meat and delicious taste. Besides Vietnamese, Thailand, Indian, Bengal, China and other countries also have the culture of crispy pomfret.
