Virtual machines are getting bigger and bigger. How can I reduce its size?
After using the virtual machine for a period of time, people feel slower and slower, and the files of the virtual machine are getting bigger and bigger. In the virtual system, the hard disk only has 1 and 2g, but the display in the hard disk has occupied 3 and 4g. So the extra space is released. There are two ways to defragment a disk in pvmware workstation, namely defragmentation and compression shrinkage. Defragmentation can be found in the virtual disk settings of virtual machine settings. Disk defragmentation similar to windwos can maintain the continuity of disk data and improve disk performance. It's simple. Let's not talk about it.

Regarding compression, after starting the virtual machine, right-click vmware tools in the tray area, find the contraction item, select the partition to be compressed, and click Prepare for Shrinking to prepare for compression.

After that, it will jump to the real system, and a progress bar will appear for compression. Can be completed ~ ~ ~

It should be noted that the compression function has some restrictions, such as it cannot be used on virtual machines with pre-allocated space, there can be no snapshots, only partitions can be compressed, and physical disks cannot be compressed.

After compression, your disk usage can be reduced by at least 1/3 to 1/2. Friends who use virtual machines should try it quickly (see photo).

It is best to use it often, especially when the remaining space is still relatively large, because it is impossible to lose weight when the remaining space is small, and the process needs a lot of remaining space.
