The difference between rational emotional therapy and Baker cognitive therapy
Different theoretical basis, different treatment methods, different objectives and application scope.

1, different theoretical basis: Rational Emotional Therapy (REBT) was put forward by Allen Ellis, who believed that people's emotional problems originated from unreasonable explanations and beliefs about events. Beck's cognitive therapy (CBT) was developed by aaron beck, which pays more attention to the influence of individual's thinking process and cognitive model on emotion and behavior.

2. Different treatment methods: REBT emphasizes improving emotional problems by challenging and changing unreasonable beliefs and thinking patterns. Use dialectics, argumentation, reflection and other skills to help individuals realize their misunderstandings and adjust their emotions through alternative reasonable beliefs. However, CBT pays more attention to solving specific problems and changing behaviors, and helps individuals learn to cope with negative emotions and challenges by imparting skills and strategies.

3. Different goals and scope of application: The goal of REBT is to help individuals establish a positive and reasonable belief system, thereby reducing negative emotions and improving mental health. It is widely used to treat emotional disorders, anxiety and depression. The goal of CBT is to improve the individual's psychological adaptability and problem-solving ability by changing unhealthy thinking and behavior patterns. Applicable to a wide range of psychological problems, including anxiety, depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and so on.
