I studied moxibustion with Master before. I used moxibustion to treat rheumatoid arthritis and sciatica. Now what I have learned is for your reference: there are two kinds of moxibustion.

1: light the fire with moxa sticks (available in pharmacies) and bake at acupoints. Before baking, apply a little tea oil to the acupoints to prevent the skin from being burned by fire. Don't let the moxa stick touch the skin directly to prevent burns. When the patient feels pain, the moxa stick must be taken out and repeated several times (about 5- 10 minutes).

2. Ignite the moxa stick, apply a little tea oil to the acupoints, and then put a piece of ginger on the fire to ignite the moxa stick until the patient feels pain. Take out the ginger slice and repeat it several times. There will be a little smoke, but the fire won't burn quickly. As long as the temperature is well controlled, it won't burn your skin.
