Video laryngoscope may be more suitable for pediatric patients with airway difficulties. The reasons include: ① awake tracheal intubation is not allowed in children; ② It is difficult to guide tracheal intubation by fiberoptic bronchoscope in children; (3) High oxygen consumption in children can obviously shorten the interval of safe ventilation, thus limiting the time of each airway operation; ④ Repeated airway operation is easy to cause injury.
Looking at the progress of medical technology, video laryngoscope is a process of replacing the original technology with new technology that meets the standards and conditions of medical progress. Video laryngoscope fully meets the standards of medical progress and the conditions of medical technology progress. Therefore, video laryngoscope will replace direct laryngoscope and eventually form a conventional airway management instrument.
