The company was located in Puning City, Guangdong Province, and was then named "Guangdong Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.". In 2000, the share reform began. It is one of the large private pharmaceutical enterprises integrating the production, supply and marketing of medicines, Chinese herbal pieces, Chinese herbal medicines and medical devices. As Kangmei Industry is the second largest shareholder and no longer the holding company of Kangmei Pharmaceutical, the bankruptcy of Kangmei Industry will not lead to the change of the actual controller of Kangmei Pharmaceutical. On February 29th, 2002112, the Intermediate People's Court of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province ruled that the bankruptcy reorganization plan of Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was completed and the reorganization procedure was terminated. After review by Jieyang Intermediate People's Court, all debts of Kangmei Pharmaceutical have been paid off by cash, shares and trust rights. At this point, Kangmei Pharmaceutical's bankruptcy reorganization ended with the reorganization goal as scheduled.
