The origin of diving
There was diving before the Song Dynasty, and it was called water swing. Performers use swings to make their bodies soar in the air and jump directly into the water after completing various actions in the air. It is breathtaking and graceful, similar to modern synchronized diving. Zhao Can's "Quotations" in the Tang Dynasty recorded that Cao Zan of Hongzhou (now Nanchang) could throw himself on the baizhang surface and take off his clothes and sit on the water. If he wandered on the mat or in the water, he would change a thousand ways. This can be regarded as China's early diving.
