The National University of Singapore was formerly the Medical College of the Straits Colony and Malaya Federal Government, which was established in 1905. 19 12, the school was renamed Edward VII Medical College. Raffles College was founded in 1928. From 65438 to 0949, Edward VII Medical College and Raffles College merged to form the University of Malaya. 1955, the Chinese community in Singapore founded Nanyang University. From 65438 to 0962, the campus of the University of Malaya in Singapore became the University of Singapore. 1980, the University of Singapore merged with Nanyang University, and the school was named National University of Singapore.
