Sallow and emaciated means yellow face and emaciated skin, and describes malnutrition or illness. Sallow and emaciated are generally caused by deficiency syndrome or spleen deficiency and dampness, and spleen dominates muscles, so emaciation is caused by weakness of spleen and stomach. Usually eating irregularly or eating cold drinks hurts the spleen and stomach, which leads to qi and blood, so the face turns yellow. Pale complexion is generally caused by qi deficiency of spleen and stomach and qi and blood deficiency. Huang Lue's edema is generally caused by weakness of temper, dampness and internal resistance. Yellow face and yellow body are generally caused by damp-heat jaundice. Pale and emaciated face is generally caused by insufficient stomach yin, and pale and yellow face is generally caused by stomach cold.
