Tokyo Yakult Swallows joined the Central League when 1950 was founded. So far, it has won six Central League titles and five Japanese competitions. Guo (former pitcher of Times Hawks) and (former foreign pitcher of Brothers Elephants) both played for Yakult Swallows. Atsuya Furuta, president of the well-known Japanese catcher and part-time baseball staff association, became the head coach at the end of 2005 and has been in charge of the military system since the 2006 season.
