To reduce the size of the PDF file, open the Optimize PDF tool. Open Acrobat Pro DC, click the Tools tab in the upper left corner, scroll down until you see the Optimize PDF tool, and then select Open from the drop-down menu.
Locate the file storage location in the Open dialog box, select the magazine Spring.pdf file or other PDF document, and then click Open.
Select Reduce File Size from the top menu.
Click the Reduce Document Size dialog box, and you will see "Reduce Single Document" and "Reduce Multiple Documents" from the drop-down menu options. After updating to the latest version, you will see the options of reducing a single document and reducing multiple documents. From a functional point of view, these two options are the same.
Select Reduce File Size, select a location to save the file in the opened Save as PDF with Reduced File Size panel, and then click Save.
Note: Keep the same file name to overwrite the original PDF with the optimized PDF, or choose a new name or location for the compressed file.
Click OK in the dialog box that opens.
Acrobat DC will display a message that the PDF size has been successfully reduced.
