Statistics: How to judge whether college students' satisfaction with graduation photo is related to gender?
The relationship between college students' gender, height, body mass index and physical self-satisfaction. First author: Tang Jiong, Wuhan Psychological Hospital [Abstract]. Objective: To explore the relationship between gender, height, body mass index and physical self-satisfaction of college students. Methods: 457 college students were tested with the Huang Xiting Body Self-Scale, and the subjects were asked to report their height and weight, and made statistical analysis. Results: Except the satisfaction of negative characteristics, the dimensions of physical self-satisfaction and the total score of physical self-satisfaction of boys were higher than those of girls. The total score of satisfaction with height, figure, negative characteristics and physical self-satisfaction is positively correlated with students' height. Boys' attitude towards weight conforms to the standard of medical normal body mass index. Except for the two fattest girls, the lower the body mass index, the more satisfied they are with their weight. Conclusion: Gender, height and body mass index are related to college students' physical self-satisfaction. Conclusion: Gender, height and body mass index are related to college students' physical self-satisfaction. [Keywords:] College students, gender, height, body mass index, and physical self-satisfaction are important components of self, which are closely linked with the whole self and play an integrated role in the whole self. It is regarded as the main body of consumption and communication, which makes it more and more difficult for individuals and researchers to ignore its social significance. Physical self-satisfaction refers to whether an individual is satisfied with all aspects of his body, such as appearance, athletic ability and figure. It belongs to the physical study of self-esteem. People's height and weight exist objectively, so does body mass index = weight/height 2. This paper studies the influence of height and body mass index on physical self-satisfaction. 1 Methods 1. 1 The subjects were students from Central South University and Hunan Business School. Through cluster random sampling, some classes were randomly selected from these two schools, and * * * Class 16 was selected as the research object. Xiangya Medical College 134 students, Hunan Commercial College, 323 students, 238 boys and 2 girls, with an average age of 20.2 years. 1.2 survey methods and contents 1.2. 1 survey methods: The students were surveyed by the method of current situation survey, taking the class as a unit, using general information questionnaire and adolescent physical self-scale. In order to ensure the privacy of the respondents, the survey was conducted anonymously. 1.2.2 General survey contents: including the school, grade, age, gender, height and weight of the respondents. According to the height and weight, calculate the body mass index according to the formula body mass index = weight/height 2. Adolescent Physical Self Scale: compiled by Huang Xiting of Southwest Normal University in 2002, with 33 items. On a 7-point scale, 1 means "very dissatisfied", 2 means "relatively dissatisfied", 3 means "somewhat dissatisfied", 4 means "it doesn't matter whether you are satisfied or not", 5 means "somewhat satisfied", 6 means "relatively satisfied" and 7 means "very satisfied". The scale includes five subordinate dimensions: general appearance, sports, figure, gender and negative characteristics. The higher the total score, the more satisfied you are with your body. The higher the score of each dimension of the scale, the more satisfied with the physical characteristics represented by this dimension. The internal consistency coefficient of each dimension of the scale is above 0.64, and the stability coefficient (0.72-0.86) is high. The test-retest reliability is 0.8 1, and the internal consistency coefficient is 0.92[ 1]. Statistical analysis of 1.3 spss 1 1.0 was used to analyze the data. The statistical analysis methods used mainly include nonparametric test, correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis, and the significance level is a=0.05. Results After normal test, the total score of height, body mass index, physical self-satisfaction and each factor score showed non-normal distribution. 2. 1 The relationship between gender and physical self-satisfaction is controlled by school and gender, and partial correlation analysis shows that students' age has nothing to do with physical self-satisfaction. Through nonparametric test, it is found that, except for the negative characteristics, the dimensions of physical self-satisfaction and the total score of physical self-satisfaction of boys are higher than those of girls (P normal weight group >; Obesity group (p normal weight group > obesity group). In recent years, anorexia nervosa has become popular among young women with the media constantly instilling the wrong idea that "thinness is beauty". The etiology of anorexia nervosa is complicated, which is related to heredity, family upbringing and personality. In recent years, the popularity of aesthetic culture advocating "thinness is beauty" is also an important reason [5]. This study found that the thinner the girls are, the more satisfied they are, indicating that the morbid concept of weight loss related to anorexia nervosa is popular among girls and deserves our vigilance. In addition, there are two girls whose body mass index is higher than 26.5, but they are very satisfied with their weight. It is reported that obese girls may have different attitudes towards weight from ordinary girls, but the sample size is too small to be statistically significant [6]. Whether a girl with a BMI of more than 26.5 is obese has nothing to do with her weight. On the contrary, the fatter you are, the more satisfied you are, so it is necessary to expand the sample for further study. 3.4 Shortcomings In this study, height and body mass index were taken as independent variables, and the effects of height and body mass index on physical self-satisfaction were found. However, the height and weight used in this study are self-reported by the subjects, which actually belongs to the category of self-cognition, not the objective height and weight of the subjects. It is generally believed that people tend to exaggerate their own advantages and narrow their own shortcomings [7], so it is necessary to further study the relationship between self-reported height and weight and measured height and weight. Another problem of this study is that the body mass index is only a rough index to judge the body shape, and it can't distinguish the bones, muscles and fat of individuals. If the body mass index exceeds the normal upper limit, it may be muscular and not necessarily obese. If the body mass index is within the normal range, it may be overweight or obese because of too much adipose tissue. In addition to body mass index, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio and triceps skinfold thickness are also used to judge whether a person is obese [8]. In order to accurately study the influence of objective figure on physical satisfaction, it is necessary to measure the above indicators. Similarly, students' sports performance can be regarded as the objective standard of sports ability to study the relationship between sports ability and sports ability satisfaction. Subjective test can judge the appearance, negative characteristics and sexual characteristics of individuals, and compare the relationship between "I in others' eyes" and physical self-satisfaction.
