Meng Ao's life
People take food as the sky, and food takes health care as the first priority. 1400 years ago in the Tang Dynasty, dietotherapy was very popular in China. A Ruzhou native combined food, medicine and medical care perfectly, which initiated the dietotherapy in China and promoted the development of dietotherapy culture in China.

He is Meng E, a famous Chinese medicine practitioner in Tang Dynasty, a true disciple of Sun Simiao. His book Materia Medica for Dietotherapy is the earliest extant monograph on dietotherapy in the world and a masterpiece of ancient dietotherapy, which conforms to the principles of modern nutrition. His other medical monograph "Bixiao Prescription" for the treatment of intractable diseases puts forward the method of testing the diagnosis and treatment of icteric hepatitis with flax preparation, which is known as the earliest ph test paper, earlier than the western test paper with the same effect 1000 years.

In Meng Ke's hometown, Ruzhou, Henan Province-Meng Ke Cultural Square in Mengzhuang Village, Lingtou Town, the statue of Meng Ke stands tall, only to see a medicine pot hanging around his waist, with a long beard and kind eyes. His famous words are written on the wall behind the statue: "Good words cannot be separated from the mouth, and good medicine cannot be separated from the hand".

"It is rumored that Meng Ao's grandfather was a famous doctor, and his father, Meng Yao, was a scholar of the Ming Dynasty. Influenced by his grandfather, Meng Chang was interested in medicine since childhood and wanted to be a good doctor who could help the world. Grandpa wants his grandson to develop his medical skills, and his father wants his son to be admitted to Jinshi Guangzong Yaozu. I don't want Meng Meng to satisfy the different wishes of my ancestors at the same time. " Shang Zichang, president of Ruzhou Yanhuang Culture Research Association, has studied Meng Chang and his works for many years. He said that Meng Chang was the third1grandson of the famous thinker Monk in China, and was a branch of Han Dynasty who moved from Anqiu, Shandong Province to Henan Province. Maybe he has the genes of Confucian saints in his blood, or maybe he was influenced by his grandfather and father since he was a child. Meng Wei has a strong interest in medicine, Confucianism and Buddhism, and is knowledgeable.

There is a ancestral temple in Mengzhuang village, which is dedicated to the portraits of Mencius and He. There is an old well, three ancient trees and ancient stone tablets near Meng's former residence, which are full of historical vicissitudes and silently tell the glory and glory of Meng's family.

Meng Ao loves medicine and alchemy, running around for officials, so he has more practice and demonstration on the medicinal properties of herbs in the north and south and the adaptation of different herbs in the north and south. When he was working in Chang 'an, he had a close relationship with Sun Simiao, a medical sage, so he studied Yin and Yang, tuibu and medicine with Sun Simiao and became one of the four famous doctors in the Tang Dynasty, which was as famous as Sun Simiao.

Meng E systematically sorted out the dietotherapy experience he could find before and after the Tang Dynasty, combined his taste experience with the medical efficacy of food, and constantly explored the therapy of turning food into medicine. Finally, he compiled three volumes of Tonifying Deficiency Prescription, which was later supplemented by disciple Justin Cheung as Dietotherapy Materia Medica, which is the earliest extant monograph on dietotherapy, so Meng E was praised as the originator of dietotherapy in the world.

7 1 1 year, Meng Huan cured Li Dan of Tang Ruizong. It means "Meng, jade" and gave the Chinese medicine the name "Meng Yutang", which has been passed down by the descendants of Meng and has been selected into the provincial intangible cultural heritage list.

Meng, secretary-general of the Mencius Confucianism Research Association in Ruzhou City, who grew up in Mengzhuang Village, said that when he was a child, his throat was dry and sore, and his mother would mix some egg whites and honey for him to take, which would soon have an effect. This dietotherapy method comes from Meng E's Dietotherapy Materia Medica: "People are toxic and hot, so you can take three pieces of egg white (egg white) with honey."
