Baitutan is located at the western edge of the northern section of Luo Xiao Mountain on the Hunan-Jiangxi border, in the middle of a north-south belt. Xuanwu Mountain in the northwest is a branch of Jiuling Mountain System in Luo Xiao Mountain Range. The township has formed a water distribution pattern with northwest facing southeast, mountains facing water, former Suzaku, back Xuanwu, Zuoqinglong, right White Tiger and Tibetan wind gathering gas. Xuanwu Mountain has a dragon-shaped mountain (Niuxianling) on the left and a tiger valley on the right. Xuanwu Mountain is 220.2 meters above sea level, Longxing Mountain is 138.4 meters above sea level, Laohu 'ao is 134.8 meters above sea level, and the average elevation of the whole town is 69 meters. . There are mountains (Baling, social conditions), hills and plains in the town. Chengtan River, which originated in Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province, passes through the northeast of the town with an annual runoff of 946 million cubic meters.
Because the Jiuling mountain system blocks the northwest wind in winter, the crust structure dominated by limestone formed from Liuyang to Liling has created a special climate in Baitutan, where spring is early and winter is late (frost-free period is 280 days), and the annual average temperature in the province is higher than 2℃. The average precipitation here is 1462 mm, with abundant rainfall and sunshine, and few natural disasters such as drought, waterlogging and snowstorm. The specific natural climatic conditions have laid a good foundation for the agricultural development in this area.
