How many growth stages can rice life be divided into?
Traditionally, the germination of rice seeds to the formation of new seeds is called the life of rice. According to morphological and physiological characteristics, the life of rice can be divided into two stages: vegetative growth and reproductive growth. Vegetative growth period refers to a growth period from seed germination to rice ear differentiation; Reproductive growth period refers to the growth period from the beginning of rice ear differentiation to mature harvest. According to the morphological and physiological characteristics, the vegetative growth period can be divided into seedling field vegetative growth period and field vegetative growth period (except direct seeding rice). The vegetative growth period of rice seedling field can be divided into three periods, that is, the germination period from seeds to incomplete leaves, the seedling period from incomplete leaves to the third leaf spring, and the seedling period from the fourth leaf to transplanting. The vegetative growth period in the field can be divided into green turning period and tillering period. From transplanting to leaf color turning green, the period when new leaves begin to grow normally is called green turning period. Tillering stage can be divided into effective tillering stage and ineffective tillering stage: effective tillering stage refers to the period from the beginning of tillering to the total number of stems in the whole field reaching the planned harvest number; Ineffective tillering stage refers to the period from the total number of stems in the whole plant to the planned harvest spike number to the tillering stop. Reproductive growth period can be divided into young spike development period and flowering and fruiting period. The development period of young spike includes the young spike formation period from the beginning of young spike differentiation to the first half of the top leaf and the booting period from the first half of the top leaf to heading. The flowering and fruiting period can be divided into the flowering period from the extraction of leaf sheaths from the top leaves to the end of flowering and pollination, and the fruiting and maturing period from the end of pollination to mature harvesting. In production practice, some people divide the field growth period of rice into three stages according to the cultivation management process, namely, the early growth period from transplanting to the end of effective tillering, the middle growth period from the end of effective tillering to booting, and the late growth period from the end of effective tillering to the end of mature harvesting. Some people divide the field growth period into three stages according to morphological and physiological characteristics. The period from transplanting to young ear differentiation is called prophase, the period from young ear differentiation to heading is called metaphase, and the period from heading to mature harvest is called anaphase.
