Is the difference between autotrophic and heterotrophic microorganisms different in carbon source? Is there any energy difference? Are there different nitrogen sources?
Microorganisms can be divided into autotrophic bacteria and heterotrophic bacteria according to their different needs for carbon sources.

Any bacteria that can synthesize organic carbide from inorganic carbon is called autotrophic bacteria. Heterotrophic bacteria are bacteria that can't use inorganic carbon, but need organic carbon to synthesize organic carbide. It has nothing to do with nitrogen source! ~
