Quietly exercise therapy questions and answers

1 q: are static kung and qigong one or two? ○ A: Static work focuses on a static word, and you don't have to do anything in anger; Qigong focuses on the word "qi", and those kung fu movements are not static. Qigong taught all over the world includes deep breathing, reverse breathing, counting breathing, pranayama, breath-holding, luck, first ascending and then descending, first ascending and then descending, left and right rotation, straight through the middle palace and so on. Although there are many methods, there is nothing more than the movement of qi; Static work is completely static, just let nature take its course in Qi, and you don't have to dominate the action of Qi by your own will. If you deliberately make it move, you will lose the true meaning of static words.

Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of static qigong? ○ A: Qigong is done correctly and can cure all kinds of diseases; If you don't do it right, you will not cure the old diseases, but will increase the number of new diseases. If static work is legal, it can naturally cure diseases that cannot be cured by medicine; If you are illegal, you will get some health benefits. To say the least, even if it doesn't work, you will never make a new disease. It can be seen that qigong has advantages and disadvantages, while static exercise has advantages and disadvantages.

Q: Who can do Qigong? ○ A: Anyone who has a smart mind and is good at using it flexibly will immediately stop doing it or respond in another way. Such people can do qigong; If you are all thumbs and only do it blindly, so that you can't cope with the special phenomena in your body, you will make mistakes.

Q: What kind of people can do static work? ○ A: Both men and women, old and young, are flexible or not. Only impetuous and restless people don't like doing this kind of work; If he is willing to do it, he can make a considerable effect, but slower than those with stable temperament.

Q: What kind of diseases are suitable for qigong treatment? ○ A: As far as the theory of traditional Chinese medicine is concerned, those who are weak in lung-qi deficiency often suffer from colds and coughs; Gastrointestinal weakness, loss of appetite, indigestion; Dampness of triple energizer, stagnation of phlegm and turbidity, various diseases; Weak middle qi, no water absorption in the intestine, frequent defecation; Kidney-qi weakness, excessive urination and turbidity; Weakness of liver qi, weakness of bones and muscles, and mental fatigue; Western medicine also has so-called metabolic disorder. These diseases can be treated with drugs or qigong.

Q: What kind of illness is suitable for rest? ○ A: All diseases that have lost their elements, such as dizziness, brain swelling, dizziness, tinnitus, heartbeat, timidity, insomnia, nightmares, irritability, anxiety, anxiety, emotional confusion, forgetfulness, overweight, thinness, eating less without nutrition, eating too much without digestion, working hard and living too hard. If you can cooperate with Tai Ji Chuan or aerobics, static and dynamic exercises can go hand in hand, and the effect will be faster.

Q: Ordinary meditation and Qigong are inseparable. Now static and qigong are divided into two things. What is the reason? A: Static Kung Fu is a static thing, while Qigong is a dynamic thing. They are different in nature. Ordinary meditation does not conform to the principle of static work. Look at their bodies. Although they sit there motionless, their thoughts are still in their bodies without rest. Although it is called meditation, it is still dynamic, not really static.

Q: How can we be really quiet? ○ A: Step one, keep your body still; The second step, the mind does not move; The third step is to forget your body and not know that there is "I".

Q: What are the benefits of reaching this state? ○ A: People's original natural disease resistance, but due to physical weakness or other obstacles, the disease resistance cannot be exerted. Static work is to help him get rid of obstacles, restore his instinct, give full play to his original strength, and make his illness hopefully recover gradually.

10 q: how to do these three steps? ○ A: When you start working, whether you are sitting or lying down, you should always relax all over, and don't feel nervous or restrained at all. You feel very comfortable. When you do it just right, although time has passed, you are not bored in your heart, and there are no unbearable situations such as pain and numbness in your body. This means that your body has been quiet, but your mind has not been lifted. Further, the mind has no distractions, fate is put down, the past is not remembered, the present is not worried, the future is unexpected, and the brain is completely rested. This is that the spirit is quiet, but the heart still knows that there is a "self"; Furthermore, I entered a state of chaos, as if I were asleep, knowing nothing and not dreaming. Of course, I didn't know there was me at this time. If you are asleep and still dreaming, there is still a "I" in your dream, full of joy, anger, sadness, fear, diet, men and women. When you wake up, you are sure, but you are not sure in your dream. This is not a real ecstasy.

1 1Q: When you sit still, your body suddenly moves involuntarily, and everyone shows different postures. Even the same person's posture is constantly changing, not on his own initiative. This is a very strange phenomenon. What is the reason? ○ A: This is another function played by the inherent vitality of human beings. If this matter is regarded as strange, there will be many strange things in people. Look at the breathing in the lungs, the beating of the heart, the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract, the digestion of food, the secretion of internal glands, the metabolism of cells, the growth of hair and nails, the combination of sperm and eggs, and the formation of the fetus in the mother's abdomen. What can I decide for myself? People are not surprised by the incomprehensible state inside the body. Why do people find involuntary movements outside the body strange?

12 q: it is not surprising that the activities of various parts of the body have never been decided by themselves since birth. However, actions outside the body have always been dominated by their own consciousness. Today, they suddenly disobeyed orders and acted freely. I'm afraid it will get out of hand for a long time, dancing and shaking its head all day. What is it like! I wonder if there is any way to control it. A: As long as you do your work legally, let your lungs breathe naturally and let your body move naturally, it is equivalent to doing aerobics, so there is no harm. If you move for too long, you will naturally stop. If you are impatient, you can stop it halfway. If you don't do it, you won't concentrate. With a little restraint, your body won't move. However, the principle of meditation is always immobility, and its movement is an exception. Anyone who studies meditation must move, which should not be misunderstood.

13 q: from the first motivation, do you move every time you sit, forever? ○ A: Not forever. When the pulse of the limbs is unobstructed, then you can sit still and your body will be stable. However, although the outside is stable, the gas under the belly button may inevitably be impulsive in the future, so you should know in advance to avoid being flustered and not good at handling it, leading to mistakes.

14 q: if you start naturally from outside your body by sitting quietly, what does this have to do with recuperation? ○ A: Some of the symptoms in people are obvious, while others are hidden. You and the doctor can know the obvious symptoms; Hidden diseases are not easy to be found, and even can't be detected by various methods. If you work hard to a certain extent, your body will start. If you can't get past the obstacle of disease, you must fight it, so your limbs will move involuntarily. After several moves, some obstacles have been removed. If there are obstacles in other parts, body movements will naturally become a posture. Wait until all obstacles are gradually eliminated, and then, although static work is still used, the body will not move again.

15 q: if the posture of the body's external performance is soft, let it start naturally and stop naturally, then there is no harm. If you are too tough, you will punch, kick and rampage, but you can't stop for a while. What should you do? ○ A: This matter is related to the patient's physique. Anyone who is suitable for resting with static exercises is probably a weak type and will never have such a tough action. If you are healthy and accidentally get sick, you don't have to worry about having your own symptomatic medicine, which is not within the scope of rest. In case the patient's physique is not suitable and there is a mistake in his hands, the teacher should improvise and try to stop his movements, and then consider the patient's physique. You can choose another suitable method to teach him to do it, which can avoid the abuse of reckless actions.

16 q: do people who do static work have to go through the stage of body automation? ○ A: Not everyone does. Only a few people are physically exercising, and most people are not physically exercising.

17 q: why do people do the same job? ○ A: Because everyone has different constitutions. For example, treating the same disease with the same medicine has different effects, which is also the same reason.

18 q: as far as the principle of static work is concerned, is the body moving or not? A: In many ancient books devoted to cultivation, only the vibration inside the body during meditation is mentioned, and the involuntary movement outside the body is never mentioned. At that time, the general static kung fu students, from beginning to end, were based on the principle of keeping their bodies stable. If there is tampering, his teacher will say that he has made a mistake in principle and should correct it. But according to what I have heard and heard for decades, quite a few people can't control their body movements, and the results are good and bad, so it is difficult to generalize. In my opinion, the purpose of studying Gong Jing today is to cure diseases. It's good to be well, but not good. It's good to move comfortably, but it's not good to move uncomfortably. We can't just take action and inaction as the standard of good or bad.

L9 Q: Static exercise can make the abdomen impulse under the umbilicus. Is it that after the stage of external natural movement, the abdomen will have an impulse? ○ A: Not necessarily. (1) A few people who work hard begin to have gas in their stomachs at the end of external natural exercise; (2) Some people, although the external automatic period has passed, have no internal influence, and after a period of complete silence, they gradually feel angry in their bellies; (3) Some people have not experienced the stage of external automation, and when they have worked hard enough, they will also have a hot gas impulse in their stomachs, which is very powerful; (4) There are still most people who have worked hard for many years and have not found any special state inside and outside their bodies, but their weak bodies have unconsciously recovered. Therefore, people who do static work have no certain rules in the changes of external and internal movements, first movement and then movement, early movement and late movement.

Q: Jinggong has reached a considerable level. The outside of the body is motionless and the inside is impulsive. How to deal with it temporarily? ○ A: At this time, the body should still sit still as usual, let the air flow automatically, take care of it with slight meaning, never help or guide it with excessive meaning, and never forcibly suppress it. Gradually, slowly, wait for the airflow to evaporate, converge, stop and naturally return to normal, then sit still for 30 minutes and then sit down. When anger doesn't completely stop on the way, you shouldn't rest your meditation time at will, not to mention panic, anxiety, delusion and anger, otherwise it will inevitably lead to trouble.

2 1 q: can the curative effect of Gong Jing be explained by modern medical theory? ○ A: The method of static kung fu existed as early as the Qin and Han Dynasties in China. Its source is Taoism, not doctors, and doctors of past dynasties did not treat diseases with quiet kung fu. Chao, a famous doctor in Sui Dynasty, used all kinds of guiding methods to treat all diseases, but guiding methods can only be regarded as dynamic work, not static work, so there is no theoretical basis in Chinese medicine books. It is even more difficult to explore in western medicine books. However, since the birth of Pavlov (1849- 1936, a Soviet physiologist), most of the principles of treating diseases with static work can be explained. In short, it is nothing more than letting the higher nerve center get rid of all obstacles and restore instinct. However, there are still some difficulties in understanding all the special phenomena in the process of static recuperation. Our task today is only to make good use of ancient methods to help modern doctors treat neurasthenia, and those special phenomena can be reserved for special study in the future.

Q: Can the so-called Gong Jing have the same name in the ancient books of self-cultivation? ○ A: It was called "sitting and forgetting" in the Tang Dynasty and "stopping thinking" in the Song Dynasty. Some of their theories are similar to what I call Gong Jing, but their purposes are different. We aim at treating diseases, and they aim at self-cultivation. However, the rhymes of various schools compiled by Gong Jing Department in the integration of ancient and modern books are complex and deformed, not pure Gong Jing. Scholars should not be confused by the names of these two words. (The miraculous codes from Volume 293 to Volume 302 of Natural History compiled by the Static Power Department in the integration of ancient and modern books. )

Q: What was Qigong called in ancient times today? ○ A: Qigong, which is circulated everywhere today, is not a simple method, but contains ancient functions such as breathing, stopping breathing, pranayama, refreshing and guiding. Breathing is to exhale the turbid air in the lungs from the mouth and inhale the clear air from the outside through the nostrils. A breathless person refers to a person who breathes fresh air through his nostrils and lets it stay in his lungs for a while. Don't let it out at once. Pranayama means breathing from thick to thin, from just to soft, from urgent to slow, from shallow to deep, but it should be natural and gradual, and cannot be forced. A protector is to temporarily focus on a fixed place on yourself and not think about other thoughts. The guide is to try to guide the hot air through all parts of the body when there is hot air in the lower abdomen, so that you can get sick if you are sick, and exercise if you are not sick. However, it is different from the martial artist's method of luck and the nature of training the inner abdomen, so scholars must understand it clearly and not confuse it with others. Another example is Hua Tuo's Wu Qin Opera, Baduan Brocade, Twelve Duan Brocade, Yijinjing, internal and external exercises, and many methods of exercising limbs in the Theory of Stages of Pathogens written by doctors in Sui Dynasty. It used to be called Daofa (the martial artist's luck method, the immortal's inner alchemy method, and the Buddhist concept), but today it is called Qigong, so the term Qigong is extremely complicated. )。

Q: Since Qigong includes many kinds, it must be suitable for treating diseases. Isn't it biased to leave qigong today and concentrate on static kung fu, and the legislation is still incomplete? ○ A: This matter has been considered several times, and it is not unreasonable.

(1) Other methods for treating diseases, whether drug therapy or physical therapy (short for physical therapy), are complicated, but they are all arranged by doctors and nurses, and patients do not need to bother themselves; Only in qigong, patients are required to do it themselves, and others cannot do it for them. Some patients are too troublesome to do. Although some patients are willing to do it, it is not easy to do it well. They must choose the simplest and most effective method among all kinds of methods to make patients accept it easily, so they give up the difficult and take the easy and concentrate on static work.

(2) That is, Tai Ji Chuan and other actions can be referred to through the descriptions of publications and pictures, and the postures performed by teachers can be imitated, but not everyone can practice them well. Besides, Qigong is an internal matter of the body, so you can't draw patterns on books, and coaches can't perform postures. It depends on the patient's own understanding of the role, so some do well and some do not. Today, to be on the safe side, I focus on static work, not qigong.

(3) For all kinds of diseases, static exercises and qigong should be supplemented to achieve the effect. In other words, if the gastric ulcer is abolished, it is difficult to ensure the exact effect by relying solely on Qigong. If you don't use qigong and do static exercises, the ulcer can be cured. This is my own experience, more than once. Recently, Qigong, which is famous all over the world for treating diseases, has actually played an important role invisibly. After the general convalescent is well, everyone thinks it is the function of qigong. I didn't know that Gong Jing had a great power to restore health in the dark, and Qigong only played an auxiliary role, so I put special emphasis on Gong Jing.

(4) The general way of recuperation has its priority, which is controlled by the doctor and arranged by the patient. Of course, the doctor is responsible for right and wrong, but qigong is the patient's own initiative, and the doctor is only responsible for guidance. If there is a deviation in time, which affects the curative effect, the doctor says that the patient's practice is wrong, and the patient says that the doctor's guidance method is wrong, and I don't know who is responsible. Static kung fu is easier to use than qigong, and even if it is difficult to get results, it will not make mistakes. After the instructor explains the practice of static exercise to the inpatients, he can do it himself. It is enough for the instructor to visit the patients twice a day, and there is no need to keep an eye on their movements at all times. In fact, there are obvious differences in difficulty and complexity between guiding qigong and static kung fu, so we focus on static kung fu.

(5) Most common chronic diseases now belong to the category of weakness. Some debilitating diseases can be treated according to the symptoms after diagnosis, such as digestive weakness, stomach strengthening, reproductive weakness, blood supplement, metabolic weakness, etc., which have obvious effects. However, there is no specific medicine available in both Chinese and western medicine for those who are late-stage nervous fatigue and gradually weak due to various other reasons. Only by letting them rest completely for a long time and be in absolute silence is the only way to treat this disease. All kinds of qigong do not conform to this principle, so they mainly practice quietly.

(6) What people lack in their daily life is "quietness". During the 24 hours around the clock, although their limbs sometimes rest, their thoughts are not stable for a moment. They not only keep using their brains when they wake up, but also dream when they sleep. They feel the same degree of fatigue when they sleep as when they wake up. Over the years, their mental consumption is too high, resulting in neurasthenia symptoms. Generally, people who are not ill take time out of their busy schedules and do static exercises twice a day. If they can keep the same, they can not only prevent neurasthenia, but also prolong life, so they mainly focus on static exercises.

(7) What qigong should be used for what diseases and what qigong should not be used? These questions are not simple. We must combine theory with experience before making a decision. It is not easy to be an instructor. Even if the instructor did not make mistakes, it is hard to say whether the patient's own efforts are just right or beyond the limit. Therefore, it is expected that Qigong will make mistakes. Static work has a wide range of applications, no matter who is sick or not, it doesn't matter whether it is suitable or not. Instructors don't make mistakes themselves. I'm afraid I can't do static exercises, and I'm not afraid to go too far. There are few mistakes, so I don't talk about qigong, just static exercises.

(8) Although the above emphasis is on static kung fu, it does not mean that all qigong should be eliminated. If the instructor deeply understands the advantages and disadvantages of various qigong, and then recognizes the patient's physique and personality, he can temporarily choose a qigong to teach him to do it, which is easy to increase the curative effect for the complex diseases suffered from neurasthenia. But the main function is still static, and qigong only plays an auxiliary role.

Q: What qualifications should a lecturer have? ○ A: It was not difficult for teachers to teach time before. Just teach students a set of rigid formulas, and even if they are finished, let them find out for themselves whether to do it right or wrong in the future. Teachers are not responsible for ensuring success, and scholars have no immediate requirements, because they have a hope in their hearts, which is not for treating diseases, and scholars are not necessarily sick. Today, people living in nursing homes hope to recover from illness. Tutors actually have the task of doctors, and things are not as simple as teaching time in the past. Therefore, the instructor should have the following conditions: (1) medical knowledge; (2) Clinical experience; (3) Be gentle and don't be disturbed by patients; (4) Be open-minded and don't hold your own prejudices; (five) to prevent patients who practice Qigong from making mistakes in the future and correct them in time; (6) It is necessary to be able to distinguish whether the special phenomenon of patients who are doing static work is good or bad, and temporarily teach them to deal with it. Internal work (including the static work of Buddhism and Taoism and all qigong) was taught and accepted by very few people in the past, and it has never been publicly used as a common medical means in today's sanatoriums. This is a newly established business. If you don't understand the old methods, you can't talk about it at all. If you only know the old routine without the help of other knowledge, you can't meet the requirements of the new occupation; If you have the above conditions, and continue to study and study, have a thorough understanding, rich experience and flexible use, you can be called a qualified lecturer.

Q: What should I pay attention to when preparing for static work? ○ A: In order to get quick results in a certain period of time, the person in charge of the sanatorium and the convalescent himself should pay attention to the following ten items:

(1) Noisy environment: When doing static work, you should first choose the environment, preferably between mountains, rivers and rocks, followed by the wilderness in the suburbs. If there are noisy places in the market, it is not appropriate. Human voice, car sound, machine sound, music sound, opera singing sound, children crying, etc. Should be avoided. This is to keep the roots of the ears clean and the auditory nerve from being stimulated.

(2) Air pollution: The surrounding air should be very fresh and clean, free of dust, soot and all other malodorous smells, such as gasoline gas, kitchen gas, paint gas, mosquito-repellent incense and disinfectant vapor, which are harmful. The simpler the indoor furniture, the better. There are too many exhibits, and it is easy to give off an unpleasant smell. Where plants are flourishing, air is more beneficial to people. This is to make the nasal root clean and not stimulate the olfactory nerve.

(3) Brightness of light: Regarding indoor light, ancient cultivators paid attention to the harmony of yin and yang, so it is not appropriate to say that it is too bright and too dark. Our purpose today is to treat diseases, so that the nerves are absolutely quiet, not stimulating at all, but too bright and not too dark. Therefore, the paint, painting and curtains in the room should be light blue or light green, not big red and pure white, and the electric lights should not be too bright. There must be no glare in the indoor exhibits, and there must be no unpleasant impression when looking out of the window. This is to make the eye root clean and the optic nerve not stimulated.

(4) Flavor: Dietary seasoning should not be too strong, sour, sweet, salty and spicy, slightly lighter than usual, more boiled and steamed, less braised and fried, and extremely umami. It's best to quit smoking and drinking. This is to make the root of the tongue clean and the taste nerve not stimulated.

(5) Cold temperature of climate: The climate has a great influence on people who do static work. Good weather can help the progress of time; Bad weather may hinder work. When it is hot enough to wear thin clothes and still sweat, when it is cold enough to wear thick cotton-padded clothes, and when the moldy days are wet and heavy, it is difficult to work hard. When the storm is thundering, the work must also stop. When working, if the climate is hot, it is not advisable to turn on the electric fan; If the climate is cold, it is not suitable for burning the stove (regardless of the hot steam pipe). Some people say that a stove with a chimney has no obstacles and does not conform to the health theory. The advantage of chimney can of course eliminate carbonic acid gas emitted by fuel in the furnace, and at the same time, it can also consume oxygen contained in indoor air. For ordinary people without diseases, lack of oxygen is harmful to their health, not to mention their sick and weak bodies. If you must make a stove, you must not close the doors and windows, and you must let the outside air in. However, attention should be paid to the circulation of indoor air, and it is not advisable to let the cold wind blow directly on the patient, so I am afraid it is easy to catch a cold. There was no good weather for half a year. Today is fine, but tomorrow may not be. People engaged in retreat should make timely efforts when the weather is suitable.

(6) Nutrition of food: Although all kinds of foods containing protein are beneficial to the body, they should be digested, otherwise eating more is harmful. Anyone suffering from neurasthenia has poor digestive ability. protein-rich food should not be overdone, and other nutrients should be properly matched. Unhealthy odds and ends of food should be banned, so as not to indulge appetite and delay the important event of restoring health.

(7) Isolation: Of course, you can't engage in all kinds of work during the formal hospitalization, but you should also make arrangements in advance for your family's life and your own way of handling events, and don't worry temporarily. After hospitalization, relatives and friends should meet less and have less contact with the outside world, and should not talk on the phone more, read more newspapers and write more letters, which can stabilize their temperament, make God always in a quiet state, and be easy to get started with work, which is beneficial to the sick body.

(8) The sustenance of thoughts: it is best not to read books that require brainpower, and scientific books with complex formulas and many numbers are even more unsuitable for reading. If reading is a pastime, you can look at the travel notes of your predecessors or personal travel magazines at will. When doing static work, your mind should be pinned on the work of "heart and interest depend on each other" (that is, listening to breathing); When going out for a walk, your thoughts should be pinned on flowers, trees and landscapes; Every time you eat, you should focus on the color, smell and taste of food (nursing homes should also study the three conditions of color, smell and taste when providing food to patients); When doing aerobics or practicing Tai Ji Chuan, one's attention is focused on the movement of the body.

(9) Time for hard work: It is best to do static work at dawn every morning, and you can do it at will the rest of the time. If you use sitting exercises, you should sit for at least 30 minutes and at most one and a half hours. If you sleep, you can sleep as long as you can, and it is best to sleep until dawn at night. If you sleep over and over in the middle of the night and don't want to sleep again, you can get up and sit on the bed and study hard. If you feel sleepy when you sit down and can't support yourself, lie down, so there is no reason not to sleep. However, when a full meal is undigested, it is not advisable to sit still or sleep, but to make your body move a little.

(10) Body posture: Gong Jing's principle is complete rest of body and mind, and posture is not important. Or sit cross-legged, or hang your legs, or lie on your back, or lie sideways, with your eyes closed or half closed (called curtains in Taoist books), your hands clasped or separated, and your palms up and down at will. Just sit, your body should stand upright from the waist up, don't bend, but don't stand hard, volley around and don't rely on it. Level, from the feet to the head, should be gradually raised, not like level, but it is not appropriate to put a high pillow on the level bed, which can only raise the head and not let the whole body gradually raise upward along the oblique trend. This method requires a hard bed. The two mattresses under the head should be six or seven inches high, and the feet of the two beds should not be padded, so that the beds can be used together with one head high and one head low. But patients with cerebral anemia don't need this method. Whether sitting or lying down, you need to relax as much as possible. Don't use anything that binds your body. Take off your shoes, lift your belt, and don't oppress any part of your body. Only in this way can we completely achieve the state of peace. In addition, mosquitoes, smelly lice and fleas should also be eliminated. If there is one or two interruptions, the work can't be done well. All other things about diet and daily life cannot be elaborated, and can be handled according to the rules of ordinary hospitals.

Q: Do many people do static work in a big room or do it alone in a small room? ○ A: These two methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we can't say which is the best. Collective work, under mutual observation, is easy to receive hard work and easy to have reservations; When you do it alone, it is easy to get a sense of leisure and laziness under the freedom of personal action. Buddhists live in the jungle meditation hall and practice hard, which is a collective practice; Only one of those people who live in huts in the mountains works hard. Although their religious people have ulterior motives and do not meet our purpose of recuperation, their methods can also be used as a reference. Today, it is best for people who run sanatoriums to have both kinds of equipment, either collectively or individually, depending on the actual situation.
