He personally led the army to attack the rear of the Shu army, beheaded more than 500 people, seized more than 1,000 heads of livestock and left more than 600 people behind. When Zhuge Liang was seriously ill, Liu Chan, the master of Shu, sent Li Fu, the servant of Shangshu, to greet Zhuge Liang in front of the military department and asked about state affairs.

Li Fu left after talking with Zhuge Liang and came back a few days later. Zhuge Liang said, "I know your intention to come back. Although you have been talking to me all day recently, there are some things you haven't told you, so you came back to listen. What you have to ask is the most suitable for Jiang Wei. " Li Fu quickly apologized and said, "I really didn't ask the other day. When you are a hundred years later, who can shoulder the heavy responsibility of the country, so I came back.

Who can shoulder the heavy responsibility after Jiang Wan? Zhuge Liang said, "Fei Yi can succeed." Who can take over after Li Fu asked Faye? Zhuge Liang did not answer.

At the same time, Zhuge Liang also told the generals that Yang Yi and Fei Yi would lead the troops to retreat. Wei Yan and Jiang Wei are in charge of patrol. Soon, Zhuge Liang died in the military camp. According to Zhuge Liang's final deployment, Yang Yi and Jiang Wei kept a low profile, did not send out obituaries, reorganized the army and retreated calmly.

After the Shu army returned to Chengdu, Liu Chan named Zhuge Aliang a loyal Hou. Zhuge Liang's last words ordered his men to bury themselves in Dingjun Mountain in Hanzhong, and built a tomb according to the mountain situation, so only coffins could be placed. Sure enough, Zhuge Liang was like this until his death. Even before he died, he was told that when he was buried, he only needed to dig a hole and put the coffin in, so he could put on ordinary clothes without other funerary objects. The tomb of Wuhou is in Mianxian County, Dingjun Mountain.

Many places in Shu and Han dynasties wrote to ask for the establishment of Zhuge Liang Temple, but the court of Shu and Han dynasties refused to accept it, so the people sacrificed Zhuge Liang privately on the road of four seasons sacrifice. Until six years (263), at the suggestion of Longhe, a temple was built for Zhuge Liang in Mianyang.
