Laozi was a philosopher, thinker and founder of Taoist school in ancient China. The greatest achievement in his life was the establishment of the Taoist School, which left a book of Tao Te Ching with more than 5,000 words for later generations. Zhuangzi, Xunzi, Han Feizi, Lu Chunqiu, Book of Rites, National Policy, etc. They all use his name Lao Dan, which is more reliable. Therefore, he is called Laozi, a historian who is responsible for collecting Zhou royal books. Later, he lived in seclusion and rode Qingniu west to Hanguguan. He "didn't know the end".
Zhang Bingyu said that after combing and studying a large number of historical materials, as well as on-the-spot visits, they found out that Lao Zi's general itinerary in Gansu was: going out of Hanguguan (now northeast of Lingbao County, Henan Province), passing through Sanguan (now southwest of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province), entering Gansu, passing through Tianshui, Longxi, Lintao, Lanzhou and Jiuquan, returning to Longxiyi, settling in Lintao, and finally "soaring" in Lintao.
World influence
Laozi's works and thoughts have become the precious wealth of the world historical and cultural heritage. The influence of Laozi's thought is unparalleled not only in Taoism, but also far-reaching outside Taoism. Its influence not only includes philosophy, religion, politics, economics, sociology, aesthetics, ethics, literature and art, psychology, education, logic and rhetoric, but also involves medicine, health preservation, qigong, military affairs, management and architecture.
According to the incomplete statistics of Yuan Dynasty, since the pre-Qin period, there were more than 3,000 kinds of exegetical works in Yuan Dynasty. As early as18th century, some western countries had many versions of Laozi. By the forties and fifties of the 20th century, there were more than 60 translations of Tao Te Ching in Europe. World-renowned scholars such as German philosophers Hegel, Nietzsche and Russian great writer Tolstoy all made in-depth research on Tao Te Ching, and all of them had monographs or monographs. Laozi is one of the three great saints in the East in the eyes of westerners.
