The hospital was founded in 1923, formerly known as Aiqun Hospital. It was transformed into Beihai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital on June 1954, which is one of the earliest traditional Chinese medicine hospitals established in Guangdong and Guangxi. Now it has become a third-class first-class Chinese medicine hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and health preservation, and it is also the teaching hospital of Guangxi College of Chinese Medicine. The hospital has successively won the honorary titles of Guangdong Provincial Health Advanced Unit, Guangdong Provincial Cultural and Educational Health Conference Advanced Unit, Guangxi Patriotic Health Advanced Unit, Guangxi Civilized Unit, Beihai Civilized Courtyard, Beihai Green Environmental Protection Hospital, National Chinese Medicine Hospital Logistics Management Advanced Unit and Guangxi Price Integrity Unit.
