How to treat dry eye?
Keroconjunctival xerophthalmia, also known as dry eye, refers to a variety of diseases characterized by abnormal tear quality or quantity caused by any reason, or decreased tear film stability caused by abnormal dynamics, accompanied by eye discomfort and/or ocular surface tissue lesions. At present, most scholars tend to think that patients only have dry eye symptoms, but they are transient, and will return to normal after rest or short-term application of artificial tears, and there is no dry eye symptoms, especially no damage to the ocular surface, and there is no local or systemic cause of dry eye. This condition is called dry eye. Those with symptoms and signs are called dry eye, and those with systemic immune diseases are called dry eye.

Treatment of dry eye

1. Eliminate the inducement: Try to avoid using the computer for a long time, and avoid contact with the inducement of dry eye such as air conditioning and smoke environment.

2. Replacement therapy of tear components: The best tear replacement component is autologous serum, but the source is limited. Therefore, using artificial tears to keep the eye surface moist and relieve the symptoms of dry eye is one of the main treatment measures at present.

3. Delay the stay time of tears on the eye surface: Methods: Wear silicone eye patch, wet room mirror or diving mirror;

4. Promote tear secretion: Oral drugs such as bromhexine, pilocarpine hydrochloride and neostigmine can promote tear secretion in some patients, but the curative effect is uncertain. Systemic application of glucocorticoid or androgen can inhibit immune-mediated Sjogren's syndrome and improve lacrimal gland secretion function.

5. Local immunosuppressive therapy: The immune response based on inflammation is an important pathological link in the pathogenesis of dry eye, so for severe dry eye, local immunosuppressive agents such as cyclosporine A (CsA) or 0.05%FK506 eye drops can be used to inhibit the infiltration of immunocompetent cells and the expression of inflammatory factors.
