How to use moxa sticks?
Moxibustion is a special material for moxibustion, which can be divided into non-medicinal moxa sticks and medicinal moxa sticks. Generally, non-medicinal moxa sticks are wrapped in mulberry paper or fine cotton paper and rolled directly, while medicinal moxa sticks are made by grinding prescription drugs into powder, adding them into moxa sticks and rolling them. The method of moxa stick moxibustion is to light one end of moxa stick, aim it at the acupoint, and keep a proper distance between the burner and the skin.

Mild moxibustion: ignite the moxa stick, and apply moxibustion at a certain distance (generally about 2 cm) from the acupoint, with the patient's conscious warmth and comfort as the degree, and continue moxibustion 10? 15 minutes.

Rotating Moxibustion: Ignite the moxa stick and move back and forth in a straight line or circle above the acupoint, which is suitable for patients with rheumatic bone pain, numbness of limbs, soft tissue strain, dermatosis and other diseases with large area.

Bird-pecking Moxibustion: Like bird-pecking, put the lighted moxa stick up and down at the acupoint, lift the burning pain up (up), and then moxibustion again (down) after the pain is relieved. This method is suitable for all kinds of chronic diseases.

Press moxibustion: spread several layers of cotton cloth or paper on the moxibustion site, and then press the burning end of the moxa stick on the surgical site while it is hot to make the heat go deep. Usually every time 1? 2 seconds, press 10 times or so. If the moxa fire goes out, you can press it again.

Matters needing attention

(1) People who are on an empty stomach, full-fed, drunk, extremely tired and suffering from various heat-induced redness and swelling diseases are prohibited from moxibustion to prevent fainting.

(2) Infants, coma patients, skin ulcers, advanced tumors, diabetes, tuberculosis, hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease (acute phase), sensory disturbance and pregnant women are prohibited from moxibustion.

(3) Keep calm before moxibustion, and moxibustion should not be performed immediately after great joy, great sorrow and great anger.

(4) Carefully nursed back to health after moxibustion, not overworked. A light diet and an optimistic and happy mood contribute to the curative effect of moxibustion.

(5) Be patient with moxibustion and don't rush for success.

(6) Moxibustion generally has no adverse reactions. However, due to different constitutions and symptoms, at first Moxibustion may cause fatigue, dry mouth, fever, general malaise and other reactions, which can disappear unscrupulously.
