When we were reading Historical Records, there was a big question, that is, why did the five emperors live so long? There are many kinds of related speculations.
First, the life span of the five emperors is actually not that long, which was fabricated by later generations to show their virtues.
The second is related to the calendar at that time. The ancients took 60 days as a year.
Third, the five emperors have better medical and health care conditions and pay more attention to health preservation, so they can live longer.
Four, five emperors are actually five dynasties, not necessarily five people, and their reign time is also a collection of the reign time of several emperors.
Fifth, under the medical conditions of the ancients, it is impossible to have such a long life span. Fifty or sixty years old is the normal limit.
In discussing this issue, we should pay attention to a basic historical basis, that is, the origin of the Five Emperors. The five emperors actually came from the Huangdi clan, and Zhuan Xu, Yao and Shun were all descendants of Huangdi. Where did the Huangdi clan come from? From a country with almost no passwords.
Shaodian is a tribe that pays more attention to agriculture, traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Emperor Yan came from the Shaodian clan, and was promoted to the son of heaven because he taught the people to cultivate crops, tasted herbs bravely and treated the people well. Therefore, Yan emperors of all dynasties were called Shennong.
Huangdi also comes from Shaodian tribe, so Huangdi people also attach great importance to Chinese medicine and health care. This is the family learning and tradition of the young scholars. An important medical work of Yan Di is Shennong Baicao, and an important medical work of Huangdi is Huangdi Neijing. What is home study? This is a family study. The Yellow Emperor himself lived a long life, which should have outlived his two sons, so he passed it on to his grandson Zhuan Xu after his death.
Emperor Zhuan Xu, Emperor Yao and Shun Di should all inherit the tradition that Shaodian people pay more attention to TCM health preservation. In addition, the special status of the son of heaven should be able to obtain more medical and health care resources, so everyone can live a long life.
Another reason is that emperors in primitive times should have no living habits and environment for their descendants, which may be another important reason for their longevity.
Many people think that the average life expectancy of the ancients was very short, only thirty or forty years old. This is actually a guess of later generations. According to the unearthed bamboo book documents, during the Han Dynasty, many ordinary people lived to be over 80 years old because of the long-term peace in the world. If you have royal medical care resources and pay attention to health preservation and exercise, it is possible for people to live to 100 years old. Of course, only a wise emperor has these conditions. The average emperor, because of his superior living conditions and lack of exercise, may not live as long as the average person if he adds the lewd life in the harem.
During the Han and Tang dynasties, many emperors lived only 30 to 40 years old, while many ministers of Zaifu lived to 80 to 90 years old, mainly because their medical conditions were comparable to those of emperors, but the lewd living habits of emperors were not necessarily related to the environment.
In history, Zhou Wenwang lived for nearly a hundred years, Jiang Taigong lived for over a hundred years, and Wei Wugong lived for over a hundred years. These are recorded in the history of letters, not in folklore. Their family knowledge and inheritance of TCM health preservation is far less than that of Shaodian family, and they can live for so long. Five emperors with rich family heritage and good medical and health care resources can achieve long life. Isn't this the reason and the situation?
