Wancheng is a modern new city. There are many high-rise buildings in the urban area, and wide main roads such as Binhe Avenue, Renmin Road, Jianshe Road, Xinhua Road, Dushan Avenue and Changjiang Road are criss-crossed. Large shopping centers, such as Nanyang Commercial Building and Jinhanfeng Commercial Building, show the beautiful features of Nanyang commerce. Nanyang Sports Center, located on the north bank of Baihe River, is full of heroic spirit. Nanyang Baihe, the mother river of Wancheng, passes through the city, and complements Meixi River, Li Sanhe River and Wenliang River, forming a unique scenery of the Central Plains Water City. In particular, Baihe Tourist Area, which is known as "Shanghai Bund", has three three-level rubber dams like black dragons lying in a brocade belt, an international A-level water sports ground with rippling blue waves, lush willows and green grass on the shore, and the moon island, lotus island, Baihe Bridge, Wolong Bridge, Yuyang Bridge and Nanyang Bridge flying over Baihe.

Wancheng district is rich in resources. Underground mineral resources are rich, including dozens of minerals such as oil and kyanite. There are many famous local products, such as horn carving, Nanyang pyrography, dushan jade, Jiezhong rice vinegar, Tianjiao brand cotton and Nanyang cattle, which are famous at home and abroad.

Wancheng District is a large agricultural area. Located in the transition zone from north subtropical zone to warm temperate zone, it has four distinct seasons, mild climate, moderate rainfall, abundant sunshine, fertile land and convenient irrigation, which can be described as drought and flood protection. All grain crops and cash crops in China are suitable for planting, known as the granary of the Central Plains, and are the national commodity grain and cotton production bases. Tianjiao brand cotton, one of the top ten famous brands in China, has a planting area of more than 400,000 mu. This year, Wancheng District scientifically adjusted the agricultural structure around the development of the main canals of Baihe and Baili Bai Tong. More than 20,000 mu of economic forest has been planted on 60,000 mu of wasteland along the Baihe River. More than 400 fish ponds were excavated along the main canal of Bai Tong, with an effective water surface of more than 3,500 mu, and 80 livestock and poultry farms/kloc-0 were built, forming 9 large-scale breeding areas, with 5,000 mu of lotus roots and 3,000 mu of forest fruits. The three-dimensional development model of "raising fish and shrimp in pond, raising livestock and poultry in pond and planting flowers and fruits in gorge" has been realized. Relying on the technology of Zhengzhou Fisheries Research Institute and other units, the famous aquaculture such as Chinese mitten crab, perch, mandarin fish and American mullet has been developed. More than 40 suburban manor-style agricultural industrial parks integrating animal husbandry, aquatic products, fisheries, flowers and fruits, tourism and entertainment have been established, including Nanyang Rose Group and Jindi Agricultural High-tech Demonstration Park. Through the development of suburban characteristic agricultural economy, the process of agricultural industrialization in the whole region has been obviously accelerated, forming three pillar industries of high-quality grain and cotton, vegetables and fruits, animal husbandry and aquatic products, and cultivating four famous and special products of fish, shrimp, vegetables, dried and fresh fruits and livestock and poultry. After planning and adjustment, four economic zones, namely, grain and cotton production in eastern Anhui, main canal development in Bai Tong, vegetables in Wanzhong and fruit trees along Baihe River, have been initially formed.
