Sanqi, the name of Chinese medicine. Mainly produced in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, named Wenshan Sanqi, also known as Wenzhou Sanqi, is the dried root and rhizome of Araliaceae Panax notoginseng.

Digging, cleaning, separating taproot, lateral root and rhizome before flowering in autumn, and drying. Branches and roots are called "tendons" and rhizomes are called "cuts".

physiological property

The taproot is conical or cylindrical, with a length of 1 ~ 6 cm and a diameter of 1 ~ 4 cm. The surface is grayish brown or grayish yellow, with intermittent longitudinal wrinkles and root marks.

There are stem marks on the top and tumor-like processes around. It is heavy and solid, with gray-green, yellow-green or gray-white cross section and micro-wood arranged radially. Slight breath, bitterness and sweetness.

The rib is cylindrical or conical, with a length of 2-6 cm, an upper end diameter of about 0.8 cm and a lower end diameter of about 0.3 cm.
