The World Health Organization lists iron deficiency anemia as one of the four major nutritional diseases in the world, especially for women and children. The incidence of iron deficiency anemia in infants in China is high, and long-term anemia can affect children's heart function and intellectual development, so parents should pay attention to it. When many people hear about anemia, their first reaction is to "supplement iron" quickly. However, is "iron supplementation" really omnipotent for the treatment of anemia? Today, this issue of Healthy Shandong invited Director Lei Yongzhen from the Department of Hematology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to answer our questions about the harm and prevention of anemia.

Dietary regulation of female anemia
Eat more green vegetables and foods with high iron content, such as egg yolk, beef, liver, kidney, kelp and beans. Don't drink tea. Tannic acid in tea will hinder the absorption of iron. People with gastric acid deficiency (such as atrophic gastritis and after gastrectomy) can take some dilute hydrochloric acid orally. Hydrochloric acid can dissociate iron in food, increase the solubility of iron salts and facilitate absorption. Eating some vitamin C is beneficial to the absorption of iron in food. When the traditional iron pan is used to fry food, the friction between the pan and shovel will produce many tiny chips. During the heating process, iron can be dissolved in food, so the iron pot is a good blood vessel.
