Wushu in Xujiadoumen Village, heping town, Changxing County, Zhejiang Province

The forms and contents of peaceful martial arts exercises are varied, including Bian Cheng, Xiaojin Gun, Five Tigers, Xiaosimen and Tiangong. Routine movements include flexion and extension, balance, jumping, tumbling and falling. Performers are mostly farmers and are generally used for personal fitness and entertainment. Traditional Wushu has competitive and antagonistic Sanshou, pushing hands and short soldiers, various boxing methods, instruments and duets suitable for drills, and corresponding training methods. The same is true of peace martial arts. Different boxing techniques and instruments have different action structures, technical requirements, exercise methods and exercise amounts, which meet the needs of people of different ages, genders and physiques. At the same time, the requirements for venues and equipment are low, and practitioners can practice according to the venues. Villagers usually light a chicken heart lamp or foreign oil lamp at night or in the early morning, and practice alone behind closed doors for fear of being stolen from school. Therefore, few people know about China Wushu. On weekdays, martial artists are not very diligent in practice. If there is a performance or competition, they will practice hard at home for a few days these days and then perform. According to the coach, the martial arts of Wushu is relatively "dead", and it is only carried out in a small scope, unlike other martial arts, which have many forms such as flying, running and jumping. Their characteristic is to pay attention to "stability", strong but slow. The weapons used are broadsword, bench, stick, double chain, single knife and shield, and the performance can be performed by one person (such as Bian Cheng) or two people.

Peaceful martial arts are generally used to perform in rural cultural activities or participate in some martial arts competitions, which have been circulated in the local area for more than 80 years. 1949 in the early days of liberation, a local martial art called shield dance was performed. Later, the performers of the shield dance also joined the national Wushu team in the county and participated in many performances with the team. 1986 National Wushu Team participated in the Wushu Competition of the 6th Sports Meeting in Changxing County.
