However, there were many people who lived long in ancient times. Ge Hong, a treasure shop in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, lived for 80 years, and Sun Simiao, a medical sage, lived for 1 year. However, they are not the oldest people in the history of China. The only thing that can be elegant is Peng Zu. It is said that Peng Zu lived 880 years, and Peng Zu was not only a legend, but also recorded in various historical materials.
In the pre-Qin period, Confucius, Zhuangzi and Xunzi all mentioned Peng Zu one after another. There is a saying in Confucianism that "Zi does not talk about Machamp's confusion". The characters mentioned in Confucian classics are well-founded and will never be fabricated. In the works of Confucius and Xunzi, Peng Zu has always been the representative of longevity.
"A Happy Tour in Zhuangzi" describes: "In ancient times, there was a big Chinese toon, eight thousand years old was spring, and eight thousand years old was autumn, which was also a New Year's Day. And Peng Zu has been famous for a long time now, and everyone has won. It's really sad! "
There is a saying in Xunzi: "Treating qi and keeping in good health will definitely lead to Peng Zu;" Cultivating a person's self-name is to match Yuyao. "
"The Theory of Everything" said, "The world is not greater than the end of autumn, and Mount Tai is small; Mochun almost died, and Peng Zu was her husband. Heaven and earth are born with me, and everything is one with me. " Xunzi and the theory of everything talked about Peng Zu's mastery of health preservation, so did Peng Zu really live for more than 800 years?
Actually, there are different opinions about Peng Zu's life span. In Liezi Mo Lifeng, "Peng Zu, the father of Peng's surname, was also ... in the summer of great crisis, and it was decided that the world would be destroyed, so Peng Zu was 800 years old", but Guoyu Zhengyu refers to "Peng Zu, Ye", and Peng Zu refers to Guo here.
"Chronicle of Bamboo Slips" records that "forty-three years (Wuding), Julian Waghann destroyed Da Peng". In the relative statement, Peng Zu actually refers to the life span of Da Peng, not Peng Zu, so doesn't Peng Zu exist? Absolutely impossible. Peng Zu was recorded in various documents of later generations, but Guo was not specially noted. So how old did Peng Zu live?
There are three theories about Peng Zu. One is that Peng Zu did live to be 880 years old. But before the four-year calendar was determined in the Xia Dynasty, the so-called "small flower chronology method" was popular in ancient calendars. A floret rotates according to 60 stars, and a floret lasts 60 days and is one year old. Peng Zu lived to the age of 880, and actually lived for 880 days, that is, 145 years.
The second argument is Peng Jia, who is good at keeping in good health. They are all long-lived people, and they are famous all over the world, so the saying that Peng Zu is 800 years old is gradually derived. So the word Peng Zu may also represent Peng Zu's family.
The origin of the last statement is based on Huangdi Neijing, the earliest medical work in ancient China. At the beginning, I mentioned such a phenomenon: in ancient times, people were "a hundred years old in the spring and autumn, and their actions did not decrease." People in ancient times lived a long life, so Zhuangzi's eight thousand years old is spring, and eight thousand years old is autumn. Peng Zu may have existed from the origin of human beings.
According to legend, Peng Zu's death is the secret that he told his wife to live a long life. He also married 49 wives in his life. Fairy legend said: "I was born in the womb, lost my mother at the age of three, and was exiled to the western regions by dog rebellion for more than a hundred years." I lost forty-nine wives and fifty-four children, suffered a lot and was hurt by peace. Wei Rong was burnt, and I was afraid of dying. The smell is shallow and insufficient for publicity. "
