It has been the ideal and belief of China people for thousands of years that the world is for the common good and the world is the same. Although Laozi's Taoist theory does not clearly put forward the harmonious social form of the universe, it still has rich thoughts of great harmony, mainly including the following five kinds.
1, a natural and harmonious primitive communist society
Laozi designed a natural communist Datong society with no oppression, equality for all and labor for all. Chapter 80 of Laozi says, "I am willing to eat, dress beautifully, live in peace and enjoy customs." It can be seen that Laozi's ideal social blueprint is based on his core idea of doing nothing naturally and letting nature take its course. It is a natural Datong society and a primitive communist society.
2. Tribal society of small countries and few people
Laozi has a special liking for primitive communist tribal life, and he is keen on the Datong society with small countries and few people. Chapter 80 of Laozi says: "Small country with few people"; "Neighboring countries look at each other, the voices of chickens and dogs are endless, and the people are old and dead." Lao Tzu's utopian ideal of a small country and few people is utopia. But Laozi's thought of small country and few people also has some reasonable elements. Many people in China yearn for the "Peach Blossom Garden" life, and many foreigners yearn for the rural life.
3. A humble and harmonious society in a big country.
Laozi advocates a big country and a dirty harmonious society, and his thoughts of quietness and benevolence are very rich. Laozi said, "Great men should be next", "Great men are dirty, and the world is the best." This means that big countries should be especially modest. Great powers are as humble as a river, the world is easy to blend, and human beings are easy to live in peace.
4. Indifferent society with chaos and great harmony.
Zhuangzi further developed Laozi's thought of natural harmony and advocated the chaotic harmony of "heaven and earth coexist with me, and everything is one with me". Zhuangzi? 6? 1 said: "I have a body, I am smart, I am obsessed with forgetting things, I am integrated with you, I am free, and Mo Ran has no soul." It means to despise one's body, lose one's intelligence and wisdom, forget together with those ethical and moral things that are difficult to distinguish between true and false, and mix with the chaotic weather.
5. Laozi transformed Hu's Datong society.
There is a story about Laozi's Hu Hua. In the Western Jin Dynasty, Wang Fu, a Taoist priest in Luoyang, wrote a book "Old Zi Hua Hu Jing" according to the saying that Lao Zi was a tower in the Taiping Jing in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The book says that Lao Tzu traveled to the west, turning Hu into a Buddha and taking Buddha as a disciple. After Hu Jing, an old Zi Hua, became popular in the world, it had a great influence, and also caused a dispute between Buddhism and Taoism, and was constantly attacked. Famous monks in the Tang Dynasty wrote to the imperial court many times, demanding that they be burned to death. North Korea banned it twice, but the implementation was not strict. Instead, Hua Shu gradually increased from one volume to ten volumes, and at the same time, some new books appeared, such as Lao Zi Kai Shu, Li Bao and Xuan Yan Pian. It's really getting stronger and stronger, and there are more and more bans. Hu Jing of Laozi was the first to die when the Taoist bibliography was burned four times in the Yuan Dynasty. At the end of Qing Dynasty, the remains of old Zi Hua Hu Jing were found in Dunhuang Grottoes. (Wang Ming, 1984)
