Reading Zi Tong Zhi Jian —— Reflections on Zhenguan Zhi
After reading Zi Tong Zhi Jian for a period of time, I gradually found that many truths are the same, that is, it is appropriate in this matter and reasonable in other things. This is the reason why analogical thinking appears.

The rule of Zhenguan appeared in this prosperous time, which was inseparable from the joint efforts of ministers such as Emperor Taizong and Fang, Wei Hui, Du Ruhui and Wang Jue. Of course, specific policy measures are beyond the scope of this article. I just want to express my humble opinion on a conversation between Emperor Taizong and his courtiers. In it, I found the similarities and differences between governing the country and governing personal health.

When the monarch and his ministers discussed how to quell thieves, Emperor Taizong did not agree to the minister's request and issued a strict ban. Instead, he grasped the essence and reflected and discussed on himself. He believes that heavy taxes make people's lives difficult to maintain and forced to commit crimes, while heavy taxes are caused by the arrogance and indulgence of selfish desires of the monarch.

Then it goes on to say that if a country's people are not well off, the country will be in danger, and it will be difficult for a state-owned monarch to protect himself. Therefore, Emperor Taizong himself did not dare to indulge his desires.

After reading this, I feel very reasonable, and I can't help thinking: Isn't it the same for individuals? We don't have the ability and blessing to manage a country, but we manipulate our internal organs (heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney). Don't we have to try to manage and sympathize with them? Modern fast-paced life, constant nightlife, unrestrained use of mobile phones and irregular living habits are actually what Emperor Taizong said about indulging his own desires, but the consequences are not borne by the people and the state monarch, but by his own physical condition. Drinking and smoking-lung and liver bear the consequences, watching electronic products without restraint-eyes bear the consequences, staying up late for a long time-all kinds of diseases are waiting for you.

In a country, external threats are not the most deadly key. Internal disunity and problems are the most deadly. Speaking of individuals, challenges from the outside world are nothing compared with weak and sick bodies. In other words, a person who is physically and mentally healthy, balanced, harmonious and unified will certainly become more brave and self-reliant in the face of external pressure.

In short, if you don't know how to control your desires and have no self-discipline to regulate your behavior, then bad consequences will surely come back, and it is your own health (specifically, your internal organs are energetic) that will bear the consequences. Therefore, everyone, from the monarch to the minister to us ordinary people, should know how to control their own desires. This is the truth that "from the emperor to Shu Ren, one should cultivate one's morality". * * * Encourage!
