But perhaps few people know that there was once a book in history that could be comparable to the above-mentioned medical classics, that is, Hua Tuo's Green Capsule Book. It not only recorded the earliest anesthesia method in detail, but also recorded the earliest surgical operation in China history. Qingnangshu, a famous doctor Hua Tuo's life-long work, records his life-long medical experience and is regarded as a treasure of traditional Chinese medicine. However, it is such a wonderful medical book that was lost soon after Hua Tuo's death.
So, why did the Qingnang book get lost? What are the twists and turns behind it? Hua Tuo was born at an untimely time. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, warlords scuffled and disasters occurred frequently. In this chaotic era, people living at the bottom naturally become the biggest victims. As the saying goes, "When you go out, you can't see anything. Bones cover the plain." Hua tuo witnessed the miserable life of ordinary people since childhood, refused to be an official many times, and determined to become a doctor to relieve the pain caused by war, plague and disease.
For this reason, young Hua Tuo began to travel abroad, visited famous doctors, painstakingly studied medical skills, and traveled all over most areas of the Central Plains, and finally gained something. A few years later, Hua Tuo changed from a "quack" to a master of medicine, mastering the diagnosis and treatment skills in the fields of surgery, internal medicine, gynecology and acupuncture, and creating many records called medical miracles at that time.
But to say that Hua Tuo's greatest achievement is his hemp boiling powder and surgery. He studied a large number of ancient medical classics, repeatedly studied the formula of "ecstasy" commonly used in assassination and war, and finally invented leprosy powder. It has been gradually improved in clinical use and achieved ideal anesthetic effect. With Mafeisan, Huatuo not only made surgery possible, but also greatly expanded the scope of surgery and improved the curative effect of surgery.
According to the records of the later Han Dynasty, whenever Hua Tuo encountered diseases from internal organs, he would let the patients swallow leprosy powder with warm wine when oral drugs and acupuncture treatment failed. After the patient lost consciousness, the operation began. He cut the affected area with a sharp knife, cut off the patient's focus, sewed it up, and coated it with a secret pharmaceutical ointment. Under normal circumstances, patients will recover in a few days, or as long as a month. Huatuo successfully applied Mafeisan in surgery, nearly 1500 years earlier than Europe.
There is also a famous record of "Guan Gong scraping bones to cure poison" in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. However, in the official history, it was not Hua Tuo who treated Guan Yu. But people finally gave this honor to Hua Tuo, which shows Hua Tuo's lofty position in people's minds. It is precisely because Hua Tuo is famous all over the world that a generation of fierce Cao Cao also found him. I hope he can regain his vitality and cure his migraine. At first, Hua Tuo used acupuncture, which greatly relieved Cao Cao's headache symptoms.
However, in order to completely eradicate this stubborn disease, Hua Tuo thought it necessary to open a skull to remove wind saliva from Cao Cao's skull. But Cao Cao is a very suspicious person. He suspected that Hua Tuo had no motive and attempted suicide. He never agreed with Hua Tuo's treatment plan. Later, Cao Cao's headache cycle became shorter and shorter, so he simply left Hua Tuo with him and regarded him as a private doctor. But Hua Tuozhi is not an official. He always cares about the whole world. So I found an excuse to sneak out and go back to my hometown to visit my wife and children. Angry Cao Cao ordered his arrest and put him in prison.
Hua tuo, who was in prison, knew that it would be difficult for him to go out again, so he used this rare quiet time to write a book about his life's medical experience and health care, which is the above-mentioned "Qingnang Book". After writing it, Hua Tuo has been paying attention to how to take it out of prison and give it to a destined person who is committed to medicine for the benefit of mankind. But Hua Tuo never found such a trustworthy person. Fortunately, there was a jailer named Wu. He worshipped Hua Tuo very much, took care of him everywhere and tried to feed him every day.
Therefore, in the absence of a more suitable candidate, Hua Tuo had to hand over the book to Wu gaoler for safekeeping. Later, Hua tuo was tortured to death. After burying Hua Tuo in tears, the jailer Wu resigned from his job as a jailer and returned home with the green bag book. But this jailer named Wu is timid by nature, and he can't sleep for several nights with Uncle Qingnang.
He was afraid that Cao Cao would come to him, and he would make the same mistakes as Hua Tuo himself, so that he was on tenterhooks and suspicious all day. After this situation was known by his wife, he took advantage of the opportunity of Wu jailer's going out to find out his hidden "book of clearing the bursa" and set it on fire in the yard. Unexpectedly, Wu, the jailer, turned around, just saw this scene and rushed over to snatch it, but it was too late, and the green book had been set on fire in the raging fire. Warden Wu only grabbed the last few pages of broken paper.
It is said that the only book left in these pages is about the method of "killing pigs, castrating cattle and herding animals" These methods have been passed down to this day, and people who are engaged in this profession still worship Hua Tuo's portrait and regard him as the founder.
