According to Shennong's Materia Medica, these herbs have the best effect of nourishing yin and moistening dryness.
I read the guide.

Ophiopogon tuber

Original: Tianping. When the heart is depressed, the injury is full, the stomach collateral is broken, and the stomach is thin and short of breath. Long-term service and intellectuals are suitable for the old and the hungry.

Ophiopogon japonicus is the top grade of this classic, referred to as Ophiopogon japonicus for short. It is the root tuber of Ophiopogon japonicus in Liliaceae. Sweet and cool, juicy, it is a medicine for nourishing yin. Literally speaking, it has something to do with the stomach, which is caused by insufficient stomach yin and poor qi movement in the middle energizer. Symptoms are epigastric discomfort, noisy or hungry, epigastric fullness, etc. "Injury in the middle" means injury to the spleen and stomach, and "injury in full" means loss of appetite.

Maimendong decoction is not only used for the syndrome of deficiency of stomach yin and qi-rising, but also used for "qi-rising and adverse throat" in the original prescription, which is obviously related to lung-qi-rising. Now this prescription is widely used in clinic to treat respiratory diseases with yin deficiency or deficiency of both qi and yin. Because Ophiopogon japonicus can treat lung yin deficiency syndrome, it is also a common symptom for patients to feel short of breath, which is called "shortness of breath". At the same time, Ophiopogon japonicus is rich in juice and good at nourishing lung and stomach yin. People suffering from drought are more common in thin people, so Ophiopogon japonicus is "thin"

Stomach collateral, that is, the great collateral of the stomach. Su Wenping's Theory of Ren Meteorology pointed out: "The large collaterals of the stomach are called virtual interior." Xu Li is located at the apex of left breast, which is one of the parts of ancient pulse diagnosis. Pulse deficiency indicates heart failure. Ophiopogon japonicus is mainly used to treat "stomach collateral stasis", which affirms its role in treating severe heart-qi deficiency syndrome. Pharmacological research shows that Ophiopogon japonicus can improve the pumping function and hypoxia tolerance of the heart and has obvious protective effect on experimental myocardial ischemia. Clinical studies have confirmed that Ophiopogon japonicus oral liquid and injection have significant effects on coronary heart disease and ECG improvement.

lucid asparagus

Original: Bitter and flat in taste, mainly treating rheumatism and arthralgia, strengthening bone marrow, killing three insects and hiding corpses. Long-term use, intellectual fit and fitness, benefiting qi and prolonging life.

Asparagus is the top grade in the classics, and it is the root of asparagus in Liliaceae. Now it is considered that this product is not only bitter in taste, sweet in taste, smooth in nature, but also has the function of nourishing yin, and belongs to a yin-tonifying medicine.

"Violence" is a sudden attack. Pain is the main manifestation of joint pain. "Dampness and arthralgia" refers to the sudden onset of symptoms characterized by pain, which can be seen in partial failure of stroke.

Asparagus can treat liver wind moving in the middle, but it has the change of deficiency of true yin, because it can nourish lung yin, tonify kidney yin and "strengthen bone marrow". Zhang Xichun Chuang Zhen Gan Xi Feng Tang is a mixture of this product and yin nourishing and liver calming products such as ochre, tortoise plastron, keel, oyster, white peony root and Scrophularia root. Clinically, all diseases with deficiency of true yin can be combined, and it is often used to tonify yin.

Adenophora longipes

radix glehniae

Original: Bitter taste, slightly cold. Treat blood stasis and shock, dispel cold and heat, tonify the middle energizer and replenish qi. A long-serving man.

Adenophora adenophora is the top grade of this classic, which is divided into Radix Glehniae and Radix Glehniae. Glehnia littoralis is the root of Umbelliferae coral. Adenophora adenophora is the root of Adenophora verticillata or Adenophora adenophora of Campanulaceae. Both of them come from different sources and have different effects, but they are both yin-tonifying drugs, both of which can tonify the yin of lung and stomach, and are mainly used to treat lung and stomach yin deficiency syndrome.

It is impossible to verify whether the Adenophora adenophora in Ben Jing is Radix Glehniae or Radix Glehniae, or both.

"Blood stasis" means blood stagnation, and Xu Ling thinks that blood stasis is "blood rising with lung qi" (100 records in Shennong Herbal Classic). Whether it is dryness or heat that hurts lung yin, it will lead to lung yin deficiency and blood stasis in the lung, so blood accumulates. The clinical manifestations are hemoptysis and blood in sputum caused by lung yin deficiency and excessive fire. It is necessary to nourish lung yin. Adenophora adenophora is commonly used with Ophiopogon japonicus.

"Tonifying middle energizer and benefiting lung qi" indicates that this product has the function of tonifying. According to the current textbooks, Radix Glehniae can only nourish yin, but not replenish qi, while Radix Glehniae can nourish yin weakly, but can replenish qi, which can be used for both qi and yin deficiency.

dendrobium

Original: Tianping. In the main injury, it can remove arthralgia, reduce qi, tonify five zang-organs, thin five zang-organs and strengthen yin. Long-term use of thick stomach can strengthen the body and prolong life.

Dendrobium is the top grade in this classic, and it is the stem of Orchidaceae plant Dendrobium nobile, Dendrobium candidum or Dendrobium candidum and their relatives. The classic says it is sweet in taste and flat in nature, but nowadays it is considered to be cool in nature, can nourish stomach yin and has the characteristics of nourishing yin without being greasy, so it is most commonly used to treat stomach yin deficiency syndrome. Pharmacological research shows that Jinchaishihu decoction can promote gastric acid secretion and gastrin release, and increase serum gastrin concentration, which is beneficial to the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis.

Because most patients with chronic atrophic gastritis are physically tired, Dendrobium can be improved, so it is mainly used to "lose weight", thus making people "intellectual man fit and prolong life". In modern Chinese medicine, Dendrobium is listed as a yin-nourishing medicine, which is considered to have the effects of nourishing stomach yin, nourishing kidney yin and nourishing liver yin, so it "tonifies the five internal organs".

Dendrobium seems light and tasteless in appearance, but in fact it can nourish the spleen with the meaning of middle earth, nourish the lungs with the essence of golden water, and benefit the essence with the kidney. Therefore, chronic consumptive diseases such as diabetes, tuberculosis and hyperthyroidism can not only nourish yin, but also nourish lung, spleen and kidney.

The ancients used this product, generally by long-term frying, wine soaking, boiling paste and other methods. Pharmacological research shows that the alkaloids contained in Dendrobium are insoluble in water, but soluble after soaking in wine. Therefore, in clinical application, it is difficult to decoct the effective components of Dendrobium by conventional methods, and it is advisable to decoct them for a long time or decoct them after wine.

glossy privet

Original: Bitter in taste and flat in nature. The main tonic, five internal organs, spirit, in addition to all diseases. Long-term service is fat and healthy, light and fit.

Ligustrum lucidum is the top grade of this classic and the mature fruit of Ligustrum lucidum, a plant of Oleaceae. Because its fruit is used as medicine, the book was originally named Ligustrum lucidum, which tastes bitter and flat. Now it is considered that it tastes bitter and cool, enters the liver and kidney meridians and nourishes the yin of liver and kidney. Kidney is the innate foundation, which is related to nourishing the five internal organs, nourishing the spirit and eliminating all diseases. The liver controls the storage of blood, while the kidney controls the storage of essence. Ligustrum lucidum can tonify liver and kidney, promote hair growth and blacken hair. It is often used in combination with Eclipta prostrata, namely Erzhi Pill, and is mainly used to treat soreness of waist and knees, forgetfulness, insomnia and premature graying of hair caused by liver and kidney deficiency.

Premature albinism, especially baldness, is a common clinical syndrome, which is more common among students, intellectuals and other mental workers. Excessive use of the brain will lead to dark consumption of yin and blood and long-term liver and kidney deficiency. The treatment is mainly to tonify liver and kidney. Polygonum Multiflori Radix, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Semen Sojae Atricolor, Semen Sesami Niger, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi, and Ecliptae Herba are daily necessities, which can be taken by decoction or as a diet for a long time.

Only by "reading the classics" can we have a deeper understanding of the contents of the book. This requires not only familiarity with the contents of the book, but also extensive introduction and mastery. A careful reading of Shennong's Herbal Classic seems ancient and obscure in language, but what "secrets" of Chinese medicine can we find that we don't know? This book will take you to explore the world of Chinese medicine in Beijing in detail-
