Sui is ominous, so why did Wendi change the name of the country?
Yang Zhong, one of the founding heroes of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, was made a vassal by the Northern Zhou Emperor Yu Wentai for his meritorious service in capturing Suizhou and Anlu. His son, Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty, attacked the Lord and was stationed in Suizhou, the town, as a priest. Later, in the name of "Zen", he abandoned Zhou Jing and became emperor on his own, that is, Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty. After the history book "Zi Jian", it was almost said that after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Emperor Wendi of Sui was forbidden to walk through because of "Zhou and Qi were restless", so he went to "walk" and thought he was the country name. This statement actually convinced us without doubt. I personally quoted this sentence in the book Anytime in the World. However, searching Sui Shu failed to confirm this. So I began to check carefully.

Known as "the second generation giant of Japanese oriental historiography in the 20th century", Shibei Miyazaki [1], in his book "Shibei Miyazaki tells the Emperor of Yang Di: the legendary tyrant and historical facts of oblivion", the old gentleman warned us very clearly: "This phenomenon often exists in history, which seems to be self-evident. There is a fact that everyone has always believed. The origin of the word' Sui' in the Sui Dynasty is one of them. " Mr. Miyazaki first discovered from Wu Zeng's Notes on Changing Zhai (Volume 1) that there was no Sui word in ancient times: "Sui word is ancient. Emperor Wen was in Zen, but Wei, Zhou and Qi were not satisfied with peace, so they went evil and wrote a separate book. Juhandulo I was so angry that I went to the water and added a good (pheasant). " [2] To this end, the old man searched all over Sui Shu or Sui Shu, but there was no similar imperial edict or declaration to prove its authenticity, and he did not exactly begin to solve the Sui Dynasty. He continued to search from the literature, and finally found the source from Xu Kai's Biography of Shuowen Department in the Southern Tang Dynasty: "Follow the evil of Emperor Wen and follow the word, which is Sui." Sui, crack meat also, its ominous also. I don't know. If you follow your footsteps, you will be down to earth. If you leave, you will not learn. "Who is a' non-learner'? Although Xu Kai was a literary exegetist in the Southern Tang Dynasty, he worked as a bachelor in Jixian Hall and a scholar of civil history under the late master Li Yu. He wrote many books in his life, including 40 volumes of Series Biographies of Shuowen Jiezi and 10 volume of Shuowen Jiezi, which made him knowledgeable. At that time, the literary and artistic achievements of the Southern Tang Dynasty were very high, but there was also a phenomenon of vain writing style. Xu Kai's remarks make people have to speculate on "falsehood". Just as some "scholars" at present deliberately subvert the audio-visual for the purpose of criticizing celebrities such as Lu Xun to enhance their position in the cultural circle, this academic attitude of winning by strategy is better than losing face. Of course, you can't criticize celebrities. Anyone may have mistakes or shortcomings, but criticism must be well-founded and convincing, and it must not be made out of nothing. Maybe you've been fooling around successfully for a while, but with the progress of human history, you will be exposed by others sooner or later, just like soso, and become the laughing stock of future generations.

Mr. Miyazaki's textual research said: "From the first-hand valuable inscriptions, it is needless to say that the Sui Dynasty, until the early Tang Dynasty, the words Sui and Sui were in a mixed state, and there was no distinction. This point has long been pointed out by Wang Chang, the author of "Jin Cui Shi Bian". "

Wang Chang, a scholar in Qing Dynasty, came to the conclusion through the study of numerous inscriptions: writing Wang Chao's name as "Sui" is not a customization, but a dual purpose. Subsequently, many examples of inscriptions were cited [3].

What is particularly interesting is that there is even a word "Sui" which omits the word "Gong" in the stele contained in "The Stone Inscription" (Volume 39). Cao Zhi also wrote a famous sentence in Luo Shen Fu: "Beauty is by the rock." "Xun" here is called "Yan" for short. He was a great writer in Wei and Jin Dynasties and devoted himself to the reform of writing for a long time.

Not only are there Sui inscriptions, but there are also many books [4]. I also found this situation in Ci Yuan, Ci Hai, Shuo Wen Jie Zi Dictionary and Idiom Dictionary. The idiom "Sui Zhu Dan Que" first appeared in Zhuangzi? Jean Wang: "Now someone is here, playing a thousand birds with the pearls of the Sui Dynasty, and the world will laugh at it." What is this? Then the person who uses it is heavy, and the person who wants it is light. "And Sima Qian's Historical Records?" "Lu Zhonglian and Biography" wrote: "Although it is a luminous jade with Hou Weizhu, it is still resentful." Here is the commonness between "Sui" and "Sui". Another example is the phrases "Sui Bian" and "Sui He", which are composed of Sui Houzhu and Bian Heyu. Historical records? Li Sichuan? The marching orders: "Today, Your Majesty gave Kunshan jade as a carefree treasure, hanging the pearl of the bright moon and offering the sword of Tai 'a ... Qin was not born with this kind of treasure. "Ban Gu's classic quotation in Selected Works says:" It is difficult for those who recite the Cloud Gate to sing, and it is difficult to cherish those who observe Sui. "This is general sui also. I can name a few more, the Warring States Policy. Chu IV: "The orb should not be envied, and the cloth should not be different." Huainanzi? Looking at the ghost, he said, "It is like the pearl of Sui Hou, and it is also the pearl of He Shen." Yang Xiong's "the watchful eye? Ask Ming: "If you don't change your exercise for a long time, why add it?" "All this happened before the Sui Dynasty, so it can be seen that Sui was not initiated by the Emperor of the Sui Dynasty.

In fact, Lu Xun had already discovered this problem. He added to the collection? The Epitaph and Postscript of Lv Chao holds that this tablet was carved in Yongming, Southern Qi Dynasty. "According to Sui Shu, Jin Wudi was upright, Song Qi was the county, and Sui was the county. This cloud is in Sui County, before the Sui Dynasty. Kings in the Southern Dynasties were all enfeoffed to their followers, only Song and Qi had them. This country of Yunsui County is before Chen Liang. " So he came to the conclusion that "Sui" is the name of local chronicles, and Luo Biyun changed it with the villains of Wendi. Wang Houbo [5] also laughed at the emperor's ignorance. Later scholars thought that there was no customization at the beginning, or that the same pronunciation could be used universally, so they went to the Committee to testify. Today, this stone is far ahead, so it has been done, until it has not changed with the article. Both "Ode to Zhang Bei" and "Ode to Zhang Bei" have the words "Ode to Sui in the Pearl and to Yong in the Bi". The word sui was collected in Liu Qiu's Liu Yun [6], which was already in the Jin Dynasty. It's just a matter of saving pens. "This has to be amazing: the standard-bearer in the history of modern literature in China is the standard-bearer, and the master is the master, and each of his textual research can stand the test of history!

But today, our history books still say this: "In 58 1 year, Emperor Wendi of Sui abolished the independence of Emperor Zhou Jingdi, and the name of the founding country was Sui (taking his father as Qi Huangong, he was tired of the word" Sui "because he changed it to Sui, so he went to Sui), changed to Yuan Dynasty, and still lived in Chang 'an, becoming Emperor Wendi of Sui." [7] Why do so many scholars in ancient and modern times love to buckle the lavatory on the head of the Sui emperor? Especially the famous professors in China who teach and educate people, why didn't they ask his students loudly in class like Mr. Miyazaki Hayao: "What is the basis of this statement, what is the most original information, when did this statement come into being, and is this statement appropriate?" [8] No one listed the famous Emperor Wen of Sui in his book 100 celebrities who influenced the course of human history like Mack hart in the United States! China's philosophy of history is almost blank. Although Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty, like Qin Shihuang, made great achievements for the unification of China, the Grand Canal was as immortal as the Great Wall, and the laws of the Kaiser were taught by later generations, but it was eclipsed by its short history and harsh governance. If we can look at the history of China from the perspective of historical philosophy, we can find that China has experienced three divisions. The first time was during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the second time was during the Southern and Northern Dynasties (the time of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms was a little short, and its reunification was achieved by a coup, which was impregnable and nobody cared about it), and the third time was during the warlord separatist period in the late Qing Dynasty. These three periods were all full-scale civil wars in China. Qin, Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty and Chiang Kai-shek, the three strongmen who unified China, could only stop the war with stronger "guns" and finally won. However, they are all short-lived. Although they have made great achievements in history, history can only give them a fair treatment of "showing off flowers without success" because of "ruling troubled times and beating them hard", abusing force and being violent. However, without their paving stone function, China's rapid progress in the next life will lack a smooth road. This is a major historical phenomenon that cannot be ignored. Anyone can comment on the merits and demerits of history. What we want to emphasize is that there have been such great people in Suizhou! Although Wendi was never born in Sui Dynasty, his father was sealed here. He grew up eating special rice from Suizhou. Although Suizhou is not their "biological parents", it is always possible to be a "foster mother"! As the saying goes, "Life is worse than death". Although "foster mother" and adopted son are not related by blood, no one dares to erase that kind of mother-child affection! Therefore, the pride of Suizhou people must always be on their faces.
