Who are the Seven Sages of Bamboo Forest?
The Seven Sages of Bamboo Forest refer to Ji Kang, Ruan Ji, Dan Tao, Xiang Xiu, Liu Ling, Wang Rong and Ruan Xian in the Wei Dynasty (240-249). Because he often lived under the bamboo forest in Shanyang County (now Huixian County, Henan Province) at that time, drinking and having fun freely, he was called the seven sages of the world, and later named the bamboo forest after the land name.

Source: The Biography of Ji Kang in the Book of Jin: "Ji Kangju, who was friends with Liu Chen Ruan Ji and Dan Tao in Hanoi, Xiang Xiu in Hanoi, Liu Ling in Guo Pei, Fairy and the evil Wang Rong, pretended to be a trip to the bamboo forest and was known as the' Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest' in the world."

Ji Kang made friends with Yang Shan, and only Ruan Ji of Liu Chen and Dan Tao of Hanoi made friends with him. He participated in Xiang embroidery in Hanoi, Liu Ling in Guo Pei, Ruan Xian, the nephew of Ruan Ji, and Wang Rong in Langxie, so he was called "Seven Sages of Bamboo Forest".
