Liver fire is the manifestation of liver yang, and "fire and water are the signs of yin and yang". Traditional Chinese medicine believes that qi belongs to yang, and liver qi refers to the yang of the liver, which is the external manifestation of function in layman's terms. It is the driving force to maintain various functions of the liver under normal circumstances. Hyperactivity of liver fire refers to the heat phenomenon of hyperactivity of liver qi, which is mostly caused by excessive emotion, liver yang transforming into fire or accumulation of heat in liver meridian. It can be manifested as the heat of the liver and the heat of the liver meridian. The liver is "the official of the general, and its essence is the ultimate", and "the body is yin and yang is used". If the liver fire is strong, dizziness, red face and red eyes, bitter taste, impatience and irritability, red tongue edge, rapid pulse, and even fainting, madness and hematemesis can be seen. Hyperactivity of liver fire is manifested in the following eight aspects: 1. Inflammation of liver fire: refers to the symptoms of inflammation of liver fire, such as dizziness, red eyes, bitter taste, impatience and irritability, and even fainting, madness and hematemesis. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that fire has the characteristics of "inflammation on fire", so it is mostly manifested as a disease of the upper body of the human body. Treatment should be based on soothing the liver and reducing fire, and Tianma Gouteng Decoction can be used. Second, liver fire can't lie down: see Volume III of Etiology Pulse Diagnosis, which refers to insomnia caused by invasion of liver fire. Most of them are overthinking, anger hurts the liver, anger blows on it, or the liver consumes blood, and God is unprepared. Because "the liver hides the soul", the hyperactive liver will be distracted. Symptoms include restlessness at night, fear, thirst and excessive drinking, hypochondriac swelling, or abdominal hypochondriac pain, pain related to yin organs and rapid pulse. Shugan powder or Longdan Xiegan decoction can be used to soothe liver and clear fire. Third, liver fire deafness and tinnitus: see "medical elements and ears." Deafness is caused by the attack of liver fire, with tinnitus, glare, redness, bitter taste, hypochondriac pain, swelling of ear orifices and heavy pulse. Because the liver and kidney are homologous, the kidney begins to understand the ear, so liver fire can lead to deafness. To clear liver and reduce fire, Longdan Xiegan Decoction can be used. Fourth, dizziness due to liver fire: a kind of dizziness, see the chapter "Treating vertigo by syndrome differentiation". Due to insufficient kidney water, hepatobiliary inflammation. Symptoms include dizziness, headache, red face and excessive internal heat, bitter mouth and red eyes, red tongue and rapid pulse. Can be seen in modern hypertension and cerebral atherosclerosis. Because the liver began to understand the eyes, the liver meridian went up to the top. If the fire is flourishing, it is advisable to clear the liver and purge the fire, and use Longdan Xiegan Decoction; People with partial yin deficiency should nourish yin and reduce fire, and use white Dihuang pills. 5. Premenstrual period of liver fire: one of the types of premenstrual syndrome. From "A Woman's Recipe", the cause is that depression hurts the liver, the liver stagnates and turns into heat, which disturbs and forces blood to rush. Symptoms include menarche, frequent menstruation, red or purple color, or blood stasis, breast and abdominal pain, irritability and so on. Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder can relieve depression and clear heat. Six, liver heat spontaneous sweating: one of spontaneous sweating, see the chapter "Syndrome and treatment of sweating disease". Because of liver heat, it is often accompanied by bitter taste and insomnia. Xiaoyao powder can be used to clear liver and sweat. Seven, liver heat evil resistance: one of the syndrome types of evil resistance. It is caused by blood accumulation after pregnancy, full pulse, and the qi of liver and stomach is reversed. More common in women who are usually impatient, the symptoms are vomiting and bitter water, vomiting immediately after meals, dizziness and bitter taste. It is advisable to clear the liver and stomach, reduce adverse reactions and stop vomiting. Jiawei Wendan Decoction (Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae, Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparata, Poria, Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, Caulis Bambusae, Scutellariae Radix, Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Phragmitis and Radix Ophiopogonis) can be used. Eight, liver fire headache: one of the symptoms of headache. Due to the disturbance of liver fire, see "Headache Syndrome Treatment", "The disturbance of wind at the top of the mountain leads to stiff muscles, and the liver yang vibrates the marrow sea". Symptoms include headache, headache, dizziness, irritability, restless sleep and pulse. Treatment should be based on calming the liver and suppressing yang, combined with Tianma Gouteng Decoction and Mother of Pearl Pill. If the liver and gallbladder are full of fire, Longdan Xiegan Decoction or Danggui Longhui Pill can be given. These are just common clinical symptoms.
